"Organized like a Club, our 250+ members promote charitable and health related issues. Specifically we:

A part of the international track and field calendar since the 1906 Olympic Games, racewalking has evolved into a major leisure time activity for those who recognize the benefits of a regular exercise program. In fact, the National Sproting Goods Association estimates that walkers outnumber runners by nearly two to one. Two thirds of these active participants are women. Incorporated in 1984, the New Mexico Racewalkers provides an avenue for two levels of racewalking -- fitness and competitive. Not everyone needs to compete, but everyone can enjoy the health-related benefits obtained by utilizing the racewalking technique."
