Ashley Kuhn left the team shortly after competing in the West Sectional in October, 1998. The following was written by Ashley during the summer of 1998:

Article for the Net

My name is Ashley Kuhn. I started Gymnastics when I was 4 years old. I quit when I was 5. When I was 7 years old I started back to Gymnastics. I am attending Wimbleton Sportsplex. I didn't start at Wimbleton I started at Memphis Center. I didn't like it there so I moved. I like Wimbleton better. I'm now 11 years old and a level six Gymnast. I like all of my coaches, they are very nice and if it was not for them I would not be here now. I also like the sports soccer, swimming, and tennis.

Taylor Norrid competed the entire 1998-99 competitive season. At the end of the season she left the team and is now on a competitive cheerleading team.

Rebekah Montgomery competed the entire 1998-99 competitive season. At the end of the season she left the team. However, before leaving the team she competed in the final meet of the season, the Tennessee State Meet. All season she would not go for the back tuck in her floor routine during a competition. But at this meet she went for it and executed it flawlessly.
To me this is one of the many personal victories that all gymnasts have. These accomplishments don't show up in the medal counts. But these personal achievements are just as important and in the long run more so to these gymnasts than any medal won.
