Although Barcelona have bought Jari Litmanen from Ajax, Rivaldo's position is still uncontested by any player. Rivaldo's contribution is essential as a playmaker as well as a bomber. Manchester United, who is eager to have this man on their side, has not reached an agreement with Barcelona.
Jaap Stam, the strong defensive player bought by MU from PSV Eindhoven, is one of the strongest backcourt player in the world. Since being left by Gary Pallister, MU's defense seems to be quite vulnerable. With Jaap Stam filling in the gap left by Pallister, he has made MU's defense quite impenetrable.
The still unfit Ronaldo have made Marcelo Lippi yet to name him to the starting line-up, eventhough the duo Ronaldo-Inter-Milan is a lethal bombing combination. Inter really hopes to win the Scudetto and the Champions cup.
The top 20 this month is dominated by players from the Italian league, Spain and England. Some top ten being Stam, Leonardo,Zenden, Kluivert and Yorke. The top 10 for August and September can be seem in the Monthly Awwards.
