Algonquin, this is the name of  a famous Provincial Park Park in Ontario Canada, this was the living area of the Algonkin and Huron Indians a long time ago. It is only possible to access the Park by Canoe or by foot. In the park there is one thousand and six hundred kilometers of established Canoe routes. One can travel for days on end, setting up camp on pine shrouded islands and wind-blown points and never visiting the same body of water or campsite twice. Here, in this maze of water and portages, one can escape the confusion and complexity of everyday life swallowed up by the immensity of Algonquin and intimately exposed to its secrets and moods.

Algonquin Park is a gigantic living stage upon which not one but countless life-and-death dramas are performed daily. Some are of a dramatic scale, such as a pack of timber wolves taking down an aging and ailing tick-infested moose.

No matter through wich habitat your meanderings take you, regardless of the season of your visit, the players that make Algonquin their home are holding stage. For visitors who take the time to look, the rewards are tremendous.

Two yours ago I had the opportunity to be one of the players of Algonquin, I canoed in Algoncuin for fives days together with my brothers in law (squarehead) Frank and Michael and their friends, wich are my friends too now, Ed, Neil, Christa, en Tim.

I am invited to join the trip again with the same crew as two years ago, of course I now last years trip wasn't easy because I was not there to carry most of the bagage in my backpack to carry through the portages. But in August somewhere around the 21th I will be in flying from Holland to Canada to be in Algonquin to have a new Algonquin experience.
