Where are we ?

Castlemagner is a parish in the barrony of Duhallow, County Cork. Our village is located 35 miles North-West of Cork City and approximately 50 miles south-east of Shannon, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football games are played here since the foundation of the G.A.A.



Club History

The Examiner Cup Football Championship has been won on seven differeent occasions i.e. 1939,1947,1952,1959,1960,1963 and 1965.

The Duhallow Junior Football Championshiop was won on six occasions i.e. 1947,1948,1952,1958,1960 and 1961 with County victories in 1947 and 1952. The Nevin Cup was won in 1965.

The Duhallow Junior Hurling Championship was won on four occasions : 1951,1953,1954, and 1960. The County hurling championship was also won in 1954

Two Junior Hurling Leagues were won in 1958 and 1960 along with three Minor Hurling Championships in 1956, 1959 and 1964 and 2 U-21 Football Championships in 1994 and 1998. The Novice Hurling League was won in 1977.

The Duhallow Junior B Football League was won in 1990 and in 1995. In 1987 in the County Junior B Hurling Championship we were runners-up to Randal OG, while in 1988, we were defeated by Whitechurch in County Junior B Hurling semi-final replay.

The Duhallow Junior B Hurling League was won in 1987 and 1989. The Junior B Football Championship was won in 1980, 1989, 1991 and 1999.

At Juvenile level Catlemagner won a Duhallow U-14 Hurling Championship in 1967.

In the early 1970's Castlemagner amalgamated with Banteer and won the Minor Hurling Championship. In the early 1980's Castlemagner amalgamated with Kilbrin to form Croke Rovers. This amalgamation has been very successful with victories in both hurling and football at County level as well as Divisional.
