[Last updated: May 14, 1997]We are now scoring with our updated teams, having been through the transfer period. We have had the opportunity to sell upto three players, and replace them with the revenues raised. Let's see if this makes any difference to our scores! (Having said that, only two of us actually managed to get our transfers in, for various reasons...)
By way of comparison with the rest of the country, the top fifty teams in the whole fantasy league are scoring between 898 and 975 points, so we're way off the mark...
Remember the doughnut rule: the previous week's score is shown in the league table. Whoever gets the highest weekly score shall buy doughnuts!
Since we are all doing so badly compared to the rest of the country, it has been decided to allow those people who lost their PINs to activate their transfers anyway. So this week we will be scoring as if all our transfers went through. It just remains to be seen whether this has any effect on the doughnuts ruling...
(20/1/97) Michael Doel joins the "Fellas" this week, so he comes in with an honorary team. And since Mike is starting from zero, he's bound to be on doughnut duty this week. No? OK, so we'll add up his notional score for last week. Damn...
(12/3/97) Dave Sullivan, an ex-colleague, has mounted a challenge! He has informed us of his team and score with the bullish claim, "Beat That!" Bad luck Dave, we already did... :-)
(14/5/97) And the league champions are Cheese Poultice United!!! Well done Ian. The drinks are on you. And the curry. And the drinks. And the fortnight in Ibiza. And the doughnuts. And the drinks. Thanks, mate.
