Claudia Poems

Claudia, Claudia what can I say
Everything that happens doesn't go your way
A career that started in 94
Was a career that definitely should've been more
Time after time she came so close
Yet she was one of few gymnasts who pointed their toes
Many injuries plagued your career
A career where the awards were very mere
I hoped to see you win the ultimate dream
Even if it had to be with your team
You're one of my favorite gymnasts and always will be
Am I the only one that can see?
That Claudia is one of the decade's stars
Not only on the beam, not only on the bars
You were everything you could possibly be
And that was clearly evident to me
You worked your hardest but it wasn't enough
I guess he thought that you weren't tough
But Claudia everyone knows
This is the way it will just have to go
So thanks for all the great memories
And all of your few but great winning scenes

Claudia is back and better than ever
Something I thought would happen never
Now the Sydney Olympics are in her sight
But it will take hard work, determination, and fight
Romania is the team to beat
Any time, any meet
But Claudia has that something more
Something I've never seen in a gymnast before
It's what is in her eyes
That says she wants to win the ultimate prize
Working for Olympic gold, the greatest goal
Will, on a gymnast, take a big toll
But Claudia is willing to give it her all
But she cannot afford even just one fall
And until the Olympics, the place to be
I guess we'll just have to wait and see
If Claudia can make it back to her peak
And if Olympic gold is what she will seek

Shes got charisma and talent
That makes me a fan
She lives in Romania
A far away land
Shes got rips and sores
On her hands from the bars
I dont know where she came from
But to me she came from the stars
Her friends are her teammates
Her hobbies gymnastics
A sport where little girls
Try to become flexible like elastic
What is her name you ask?
Claudia Presecan
And Olympic gold is her ultimate task
