Safety First (Injury)

Playing paintball can be great fun and exercise but as with any type of physical activity there is a risk of an accident or over exertion.

Accidents often involve tripping or falling and can usually be avoided. Wear a sturdy, high-topped boot and watch where you are going. Rocks, stumps, deadfalls and other natural traps can be dangerous for the unwary. While it would be impossible for a field to remove every rock and stump there should be no man-made hazards. If you notice any hazards such as broken glass or rusty metal on the field you should notify the staff immediately. Also, try not to get carried away with heroic moves. Diving over a barricade may look neat but landing on the other side could be painful.

Hazards aside take it easy on yourself. In the heat of battle we will sometimes put our bodies through exertions that we don't normally try. Stretch and limber up before and after games and try to play within your physical limits. Don't be afraid to sit out a game if you feel tired and try to drink lots of fluids (no alcohol). If you play paintball often you may even want to consider an exercise plan to keep you in shape for the game.

Finally, remember to bring any emergency medications such as allergy kits or asthma puffers that you may require and make sure to notify the field staff of any medical condition you may have.

Paintball is the world's safest sport and it's because safety is EVERY player's first concern.
