About Me

I graduated with a B.S. in Equine Studies from Virginia Intermont College in May 2004. My final GPA was 3.699/4.0. I don't expect my degree to get me anywhere, this sort of college degree doesn't much matter in the horse world. However, the fact is that I do have a degree and than means something. This makes me the only one of my father's children to graduate from college. I was recently accepted into a local university and started taking classes in January. There are just many things I would like to try that I never took the time for, and skills I need to be more marketable and to understand the world better....

I like bowling, lazer tag, archery, trail riding, singing when no one is around, and doing stuff with friends (with the exception of things like repelling and many activities that involve falling from the sky). I like watching anime, reading manga, and I'm learning to enjoy fighting movies. I don't mind subtitles. I just learned to swim in 2004. But I havn't been in body of water bigger than a tub since then. I do cross-stitch, and I like like to write.

I have a (very) dark brown kitten-cat with the softest fur ever, and a wonderful dog. I collect Breyer model horses and Babylon 5 collectables. I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy. Some of my favorite authors are Mercedes Lackey, Anne McCaffery, and Katherine Kurtz. I've started reading other things as well, some biographies, non-fiction, anything that catches my eye. My favorite TV show is Babylon 5 (B5), even though the show is over and the spinoff didn't take-off (poor timing and station beauroucracy). I don't really watch much TV, too busy with school, work, and TKD, and when I do have time I am usually with friends or on the internet. I have a '03 Chevvy Tracker, it was my first brand new car - what relief it was to get something reliable without "issues."

I joined TKD at a nearby mall last year. I used to hate PE and recess, so I am constantly surprised that I am doing some of this stuff. I've gone through no-belt, white, yellow, green, blue, purple, and now I'm red. Next is brown (I'm up for testing next month), brown senior, and then the black belt candidate ordeals.

I am generally quiet, I have a lot to say, but often it seems inane, so I don't say it. I can be well-spoken, but sometimes I need time to pull the words together. I can sense when too much time has passed, so when that happens it is often too much trouble to say what I needed to, because at that point the other person has forgotten what we were talking about and I have to bring them up to speed all over again. I can be headstrong and willful. I can seem rather unemotional, but that's mostly because it takes time for me to know someone well enough to be comfotable. I get real focused on my tasks, no matter how small, at time I don't even notice when someone says hi. I'm not being rude, just oblivious.
