INTRODUCTION

The following document is the official constitution of the Canadian Fantasy Hockey League, hereon referred
to as the CFHL. The CFHL is only for the true, elite hockey fan who not only follows their team but
wants to experience the hands on action of running their very own hockey team.

LEAGUE SETUP

The CFHL will be run using the HLS2 simulator and Tim Chan's League Manager.

The league shall consist of 24 teams which shall be divided into two conferences.
Furthermore, each conference shall then be divided into two divisions. No team may change divisions
during the seasons.

All stated times will be treated as if they were in Vancouver, BC or Los Angeles (PST). That time shall be
considered CFHL time.

TEAM SETUP

Each team shall be run by a General Manager selected by the commissioner. It is required that each team
be based in an actual location. Each team shall have a 35-man roster.

GAMES

Each team shall play a total of 84 games each season. They shall play eight games against each team in
their division and two games against every other team in the CFHL.

LINES

Games will be simmed approx. twice a week, with 3 or 4 games being simmed on those days.
Every GM MUST send in lines for every one of those days. You will be allowed to miss once or twice,
but if you don't send in your lines almost every time or every second game you will be removed from the league

TRADES

Just as in real life, trading is one of the most important aspect of the league. As in most other fantasy
leagues and the NHL, you can trade almost anything. You may trade:

DRAFT PICKS
You may trade as many draft picks as you desire but you may not trade draft picks for any drafts that
will occur five years after the deal. For example, you could deal:
1st rounder in 98, 2nd rounder in 99, 3rd rounder in 00
but not:
1st rounder in 98 to 01, 2nd rounder in 02-05
This is based along the philosophy that it would be unfair for any future owners of your teams to not
have draft picks for the next 20 years.

PLAYERS

The most obvious asset you can deal is the players. This is pretty straightforward, deal as many as you
like, no limits!

Once completed, BOTH sides must send confirmation to the trademaster. The following procedure must
happen within a 48 hour period of the trade being completed for it to be ruled unfair. Within the 48 hours
of the trade being posted to the web pages, three separate parties must register complaints to the
commissioner. If that has happened and the commissioner agrees, it shall be taken to a disciplinary
hearing. The two parties will have to reason the trade and if the committee disagrees by a majority vote,
each side shall be fined and the trade shall be void.

The salaries shall be decided by Tim Chan's League Manager.

ENTRY DRAFT

Each year, the league will hold a 3 round entry draft. During this draft any player not on the roster of any
CFHL team and is in the NHL, AHL, IHL or has been signed or drafted by an NHL franchise is eligeable.
Any player not meeting such criteria will not be available to play in the CFHL. The draft shall occur with
the team with the worst record that season drafting first and the best drafting last for each round.

ELIGEABILITY

Any player who plays in the NHL, IHL or AHL or has been drafted or signed by an NHL franchise is
eligeable to play in the CFHL. Any player who is in the juniours shall not play until the time when they
are promoted or drafted. Furthermore, IHL and AHL players may ONLY be drafted. They may not be
signed during the regular season. Any player who is having a contract dispute with their team will still
be eligeable even though they do not have an NHL contract, provided they played at least one game the
previous season in the NHL.

EDITOR OF THE CFHL RINKSIDE
This person should be a very responsible and dedicated person. I have many ideas for a newspaper that
I will share with the appropriate editor. They are responsible for assembling a team of reporters and
producing a newspaper once a week. They must have access to a web page and have some journalistic
skill. It is their job to see all stories are in and they must have one edition per week, and are granted
vacation time.

ALL STAR GAME

The League All-Stars shall be voted on by the General Managers and compete in two different
competitions. Every other CFHL season there shall be a North America v. Europe game and the other
seasons shall be a Canadian Confernce v. World Conference game.
