AU Tennis Sweeps Over Wells
AURORA, NY - The Alfred University women's tennis team defeated Wells College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon to move
them to 4-3 on the season.
Senior Anya-Kae Robinson (Manhattan/Landmark) won her first singles competition by a 6-0, 6-2 count. Sophomore
Lindsay DeCsipkes (Unionville, PA/Kennett Square) won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles, sophomore Alexis Piekarsky
(Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles, and sophomore Sarah Keipp (East Aurora/East
Aurora) won her fourth singles match 6-3, 6-3. Also winning at singles were sophomores Colleen Bush (Jamestown/Jamestown),
6-2, 6-0 in fifth singles, and Erin Sands (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
The Saxons also swept their doubles matches. Robinson and DeCsipkes teamed up for an 8-2 win at first
doubles, Piekarsky and Keipp won 8-3 at second doubles, and Bush and Sands won 8-3
at third doubles.
