INTRO

I Can't Believe It's Not Real or ICBINR, as it is more easily referred to, was created to give the beginning role-player a low pressure environment to learn in and at the same time give the experienced role-player a place to have fun without the demanding time constraints or egos that go along with playing in some of the top rated feds on the internet today. Winning and losing in the ICBINR come second to having fun, improving our role-playing skills and the all-mighty angle.

THE ICBINR YESTERDAY

I won't go into a detailed description of the ICBINR's past but it was originally an International Federation that came into existence when the LRPW folded and was taken over by myself in late 1996. I ran the fed into the spring of 1997 until burnout from a schedule that was nearly impossible to maintain took it's toll on me and the ICBINR folded as well.

THE ICBINR TODAY

Today I have learned a few lessons from the failure of the original ICBINR. I started small with the GPWA and I rounded up a team of what I consider to be some of the finest writers in the game today. I set a schedule that was a little more workable to the person that loves the game but is not consumed by it and I made sure my writers knew that their lives came before the GPWA.

At the same time I had participated in some of the new "REGIONAL" feds that were becoming so popular at the time. To me they seemed confusing and disorganized and I was an experienced role-player. I knew it had to be really hard on the first time role-player but I liked the idea and the GPWA was growing to the point that I needed to expand or the smaller cards that were necessary to maintain a life outside of e-wrestling were going to have to be expanded.

THE ICBINR TOMORROW

Well I am no fortune teller but I don't see any end in sight for the ICBINR. I want to continue to expand the boundaries of the e-wrestling medium. When I started fantasy wrestling it was pretty much all done on message boards, IRC or e-mail. Today with the advent of Real Audio and Shockwave and the reasonable price of these software packages. There is no need to not experiment and continue to improve the experience that we all share as role-players.
