  • PLAYERS AND PERSONALITIES

    WAYNE STARKEY: Goalkeeper: Returned to the club for this campaign after playing twice at teh start of last season. Previoulsy with Walsall, Nuneaton, Atehrstone and Bedworth.

    JON HASSALL: Defender: Recent signing from Unibond League side Witon Albion. Previously with Northampton town, Shepshed Dynamo and Nuneaton Borough.

    CHARLIE PALMER: Defender: Considerable football league experience with over 300 appearences for Watford, Notts County, Derby and Walsall. Formerly with Burton Albion, he was signed for United from Moor Green.

    NEIL WHITE: Defender: Picked up by Hinckley Town from Leicestershire Senior League side St Andrews. His career at United has been interrupted by injuries.

    JOHN ALLCOCK: Defender: Centre half who signed permanantly after an impressive spell on loan from Hucknall Town. Previousl clubs include Alfreton Town.

    TOMMY DALY: Defender/Midfield: Experienced right sided player who was a member of the Bromsgrove Rovers side that won the Southern League and finished runners up in the GM Vauxhall Conference. Signed from Bedworth just before Christmas 1997.

    MORTON TITTERTON: Midfield: Club captain previously with Bedworth and Racing Club Warwick. Tough tackler with an eye for goal that has seen him amongst the leading scorers this season.

    MARK HARBOTTLE: Midfielder: Recent signing from Stamford. A former England schoolboy international, he played League football with Notts County and Doncaster before winning the Midland division title with both Tamworth and Grantham.

    IAN DREWITT: Midfielder/Forward: Signed from Nuneaton for whom he was a major player when they won the Midland division title in 1995-6. previously with Weymouth, Merthyr and Stafford Rangers.

    LEE MCLINCHEY: Forward: Signed from Shepshed just before Christmas. Former clubs include Scunthorpe United and Leicester United.

    JOHN SYMONDS: Forward: The clubs record signing from Nuneaton. Proven goalscorer at Dr Marten's level during spells with Bedworth, Cheltenham Town and Hinckley Town. A former trainee with Derby County.

    DAVE KING: Forward: a summer capture from 1997-8 Midland division champions Grantham Town. Previously a prolific scorer with Shepshed Dynamo.

    DEAN THOMAS : Player Manager: Enjoyed a lengthy professional career with Wimbledon, Fortuna Dusseldorf Northampton and Notts County with whom he played in the Premier League and twice at Wembley. Forced to quit the pro game through injury and began his management career with Bedworth United and joined Hinckley close season.
