Why do indoor shooters increase their point weight size above what is recommended on the shaft selection chart??

Many achers want the line cutting advantage of large diameter shafts. Generally, these shafts are to stiff in spine. To weaken the spine and make the arrow tune, a heavier than normal point is required.

Are aluminum/carbon arrows suitable for hunting??

Yes! Aluminum/carbon shafts have been around for years. It's been recommended using an Easton broadhead adapter ring for o-ring type broadheads.

When selecting an arrow for a single cam bow, should I classify it as a hard cam or soft cam??

For one -cam bows use the shape of the cam, not the idler wheel, to determine the correct arrow. Most are hard cam, but when in doubt, check with the bow manufacturer.

I have only one tree stand and hunt only weekends. Last season when I hunted I saw quite a few deer at first, but saw fewer each time out. How often can you sit in a stand before you have to move it??

It really depends upon two things: How well you can get in and out of the stand without running into deer, and your ability to remain undetected while on stand. There are some locations that are so good you can hunt them every day of the season. Stands near creeks, are one classic example. One the other hand, if you hunt right in major deer concentration areas, crossing several trails to get to your stand, it will burn out quickly. Additionally, you really need more than one stand so you can play more than one wind direction. Rather than move your stand all the time, it would be better to set up at least one more for a different common wind direction and focus on putting them both in places you can get in and out of easily.
