About the NWCL

Northwest Cricket League (NWCL) was established in 1995, and is the only US cricket league in the Pacific Northwest. NWCL consists of teams from PORTLAND (Portland Cricket Club, Beaverton Cricket Club, and Multnomah Cricket Club), SEATTLE (Seattle Cricket Club, Microsoft Cricket Club, Indo-Pak Cricket Club and United Cricket Club) and EASTERN WASHINGTON / NORTH IDAHO (Washington State University Cricket Club, Pullman). There are also rumblings of new teams being formed in Spokane, Southern Washington and Southern Oregon.

The cricket season in the Pacific Northwest is from April to October. Currently eight (8) teams are competing for the Northwest Cricket League Championship on a Round-Robin Home & Away format. The previous champions are Washington State University CC, Portland CC, & Microsoft CC, in 1995, 1996 and 1997 respectively.

In addition to the above teams, and the regular league, NWCL has a few other clubs (which are trying to become full-fledged league members) playing in a friendly matches format. NWCL is also coordinating efforts with other leagues in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Canada to set up a regular exchange format, where representative teams from all these far flung leagues, and other leagues, get to play each other.

NWCL became a full member of the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) in 1997, and is working with them to promote and develop the game of cricket in the Northwest and the USA.
