The years have been special, not sure what to say
After so many pitches, so many hits, so many big plays.
I could simply say that this team was great,
After all you won 50, and lost about 8.
But its not how many you win, or how many you lose,
Its how you do it, its the road that you choose.
You did it with class, coaches and umpires would say,
"What a nice group of girls, and they really can play."
The first championship at Hurley, an incredible time,
Coaches, parents, and friends, filled with such pride.
That was your moment, a destination reached,
The first flag, a symbol, to remember the feat.
The following year, defending your crown,
With strength and confidence, there was no let down.
With the repeat complete, at Rondout this time,
Another banner, but more important, more memories inside.
Thanks for the victories and the Championships won,
But mostly for being yourselves, and making it fun.
For what is Highland Gold ? Its not just a team,
More than practices, more than games, its everything between.
All the laughs, all the smiles, the occasional tears,
Its everything we've shared these past several years.
Its simply the collection of memories that we fondly hold,
I will treasure them always, they are all Highland Gold.
