12345Ted Crawford Sizemore was born in Gadsden Alabama on April 15,1946. He was the oldest of four. In 1948, his family moved to Detroit Michigan.
12345 At Pershing High School, Ted earned All-city honors, 3 years as a baseball catcher, 2 as a football fullback and 2 as a basketball guard.

12345 He attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on an athletic scholorship, and dropped the other sports to concentrate on baseball. . Ted was an All-Big Ten catcher in both 1965 and 1966. He hit .321 in 1966 and recived District All-American honors.


12345 In the June 1966 free agent draft, Ted was the Dodgers 18th selection, taken in the 40th round.
