JAM Free Agency Rules

(b) If a captain does not designate two (2) Free Agents in the manner specified in paragraph (a), or, alternatively, if a designated Free Agent does not attend The JAM, that captain may designate any undesignated player meeting the requirements specified in paragraph (a) as a Free Agent prior to the commencement of the Draft, provided that the Free Agent agrees to being so designated.

(c) If a captain designates fewer than two (2) Free Agents in the manner specified in paragraphs (a) and (b), he or she shall receive the first pick in the Draft, after which pick the Draft will proceed according to normal rules, provided, however, that (i) if each captain has designated an equal number of Free Agents (but less than two (2) the Draft shall proceed according to normal rules and (ii) if one captain has designated one (1) Free Agent and the other captain has designated zero (0) Free Agents, the captain who has designated zero (0) Free Agents shall receive the first pick in the Draft, after which pick the Draft will proceed according to normal rules.

(d) Each Free Agent may receive from each captain, in return for their services, compensation having an aggregate fair market value of not more than ten dollars ($10). If this compensation is rendered, in whole or in part, by any means other than cash, the value of the non-cash compensation shall be determined by the Commissioner or, if the captain rendering such compensation challenges the Commissioner's determination, by a majority of the Independent Committee Members acting in good faith.

(e) The term of each Free Agent shall expire at midnight on the day following the conclusion of The JAM.

(f) Subject to the approval of the captains of all other Franchises scheduled to participate in The JAM that calendar year, each captain shall be permitted to designate one (1) person as an assistant captain, provided that that person designated as an assistant captain has played for that Franchise in at least 25% of the total JAMs played. The player designated as an assistant captain must agree to such designation.

(g) These Free Agency Rules may be amended at any time and from time to time by the Commissioner.

Definitions:

• "Commissioner" shall mean the Commissioner of The JAM.
• "Committee" shall mean The JAM Committee.
• "Draft" shall mean the selection process for players that occurs prior to The JAM. Unless otherwise determined by a majority of the captains, the Draft shall proceed in such a manner that the captains shall switch order of priority each round, so that the captain selecting first in the first round shall select last in the second round, and the captain selecting last in the first round shall select first in the second round, and so on.
• "Franchise" shall mean the Blasters and the Patches, as such teams may be re-named or re-constituted from time to time, and including any successor franchises thereto. The term shall also encompass any additional franchises that may be established by the Commissioner or the Committee from time to time.
• "Independent Committee Member" shall mean any member of The JAM Committee who is not also the captain of a Franchise.
• "The JAM" shall mean The JAM.
