Injured List Yet Again - Miles is on the injured list again as of 4/14. Apparently, he wasn't at the Magic-Raptors game on the 19th. And the report is that he won't be back for at least a week. He might actually really be injured this time. (4/21/99)

Miles Gets Playing Time and Makes Two Points - Miles was taken off the injured list on March 23. Better yet, he actually played in the Magic's last two games! Miles's first two points in the NBA were made against the Bulls on April 2. Hopefully, he'll get a few more baskets in this season... (4/4/99)

"Injured" Again - As of March 8, Miles is back on the injured list. Same complaint as last time. Hmm... (3/14/99)

Miles Off Injured List - Well, the Magic finally got their act together and took Miles off the injured list. With 14 players on the roster and two of those on the injured list, it seems like there's not much danger of Miles being cut. Now only if they'd give him some playing time... (2/28/99)

Fading Away? - According to Scoop Jackson of Slam magazine, Miles is the rookie most likely to "fade into obscurity." Let's hope he's way off with this one! But not playing at all can't help. (2/28/99)

Not Really Hurt - It seems that Miles isn't really injured. According to the online edition of the Arizona Daily Star, "Simon has developed too slowly for coach Chuck Daly's liking. The 1997 Final Four MVP played only one minute of a game before Daly placed him on injured reserve Wednesday with knee tendinitis. He is not hurt. The Magic needed to pare its active roster to 12 players by Friday." This means that Miles isn't going to be cut from the roster yet, but he won't be playing. (2/22/99)

Miles on Injured List - Well, there might be a reason that Miles isn't getting any playing time. It could be because he has tendinitis in his left knee. He was put on the injured list on 2/17. This actually could be good news for Miles. Why? The fact that he's on the injured list at all seems to mean that the Magic are going to keep him on their roster for the rest of the season. Hope Miles gets better soon! (2/19/99)

Miles Gets First Regular Season Minute - Miles got all of a minute of playing time in today's game against the Celtics. Next time let's hope for two! By the way, the Magic won 107-90. See what happens when Miles is on the floor? Wonder how they'd do if he played a little more... (2/8/99)

Strawberry Spotted at Magic-76ers Game - Darryl Strawberry attended the Magic-76ers game yesterday, presumably to see his brother-in-law Miles in action. Only Miles didn't play a single minute, and the Magic lost 95-75. Hopefully this situation will be remedied the next time Strawberry comes to watch an Orlando game. (2/7/99)

Will Miles Soon Be Out of a Job? - The question of the day is whether Miles will be kept on the Magic's roster. According to yesterday's online edition of the Arizona Daily Star, Miles may soon be cut from the team: "Miles Simon has almost no chance of making the Orlando Magic's roster once the NBA ends its two-week grace period (it is permitting each team to carry 14 players until Feb. 14). The Magic last week signed two free agent shooting guards, Doug Overton and Gerald Wilkins, to guaranteed contracts. Plus, Orlando's No. 1 draft pick, Georgia Tech's Matt Harpring, has a clear edge on Simon at the reserve wing positions behind Nick Anderson and Darrell Armstrong." Let's just hope that the rumors are false and Miles continues to play in the NBA. (2/1/99)

Miles Signs with Orlando (Part 2) - The details of Miles's deal with the Magic are out. Miles signed a one year guaranteed deal for $287,000. Let's hope that Miles does well this year and gets resigned for next season! (1/27/99)

Miles Signs with Orlando - It's official. Miles Simon is an NBA player. He signed a contract with the Orlando Magic on Thursday. Congrats to Miles! (1/23/99)

NBA Lockout Finally Over - After everyone had given up hope, the NBA lockout is over and a short season is likely to be played. Now we just need to get Miles some playing time... (1/6/99)

Miles Spotted at UCLA-Arizona Game - Miles was spotted in the crowd at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday night as UCLA beat Arizona 82-75. UCLA gave Arizona its first loss of the season. I'd like to say I sympathize with Miles and the Wildcats, but I do go to UCLA... Luckily for Miles, Arizona beat USC today 87-78. (1/4/99)

Miles in Trouble - Miles is facing a misdemeanor trespassing charge for going to the home of Baltimore Orioles player Albert Belle. To find out more, read the article. (12/26/98)

The Magic to Have Spanish Radio Broadcasts - The Magic have recently entered into a deal with WPRD (1440 AM), a Spanish radio station in Orlando. All home games will be broadcast in Spanish on WPRD and simulcast on WTRR (1400 AM). (10/17/98)

Yankee Outfielder Darryl Strawberry Has Colon Cancer - Okay, Darryl Strawberry has nothing really to do with basketball. But since he's Miles's brother-in-law and all, I thought it was news worth mentioning. Strawberry has a walnut-sized malignant tumor in his colon and will undergo surgery on Saturday, 10/3. Best wishes to Strawberry and his family. (10/1/98)

Spud Webb Signs with CBA Team - 12-year NBA point guard Spud Webb has just signed a contract with the Idaho Stampede. This makes him the first major name to sign with a CBA team during the NBA lockout. On Februrary 22nd of last year, Webb had signed a 10-day contract with the Orlando Magic. He appeared in four games, averaging 3.0 points and 1.3 assists. He was waived by the Magic on March 1st. (10/1/98)

Miles wasn't picked until the second round with the 42nd pick. (8/13/98)
