Once you have created an image with all of the static
pictures in the correct place, you are ready to animate. Follow the
instructions below to create the animation:
With your image open in Photoshop click on File and select Edit
in Imageready or click on the Image ready button on the tools toolbar
.
Your image will be opened up in Imageready for editing.
Make sure the animation toolbar is visible on your screen. If it
is not visible go to the Window file menu and check the Animation
selection. You will also need the Layers toolbar visible. If it is
not visible follow the same instructions as above with the exception
of checking the Layers selection.
You are now ready to create your first animation slide. Animation
is made up of several slides of an image. Each slide has a certain
amount of time that it is visible and will display only layers you
want to at that time.
You will see a slide of your image on the animation toolbar. At
the Layers toolbar click the eye icon
on each layer of your image that you do not want to be visible on
the first slide.
When you are ready to make a new slide, click the new slide button
on the animation toolbar.
You can now hide or make visible different layers of your image
for the follow on slides.
When you have completed all of the slides you desire you need to
set the amount of time that each slide will stay visible. On the bottom
of each slide you can click and a time menu will appear. Set the time
of each slide according to how fast or slow you would like the animation
to display.
You can preview how the image will display by clicking the
pointing finger icon. You can also do a preview in your browser by
pressing F12.
A neat function you can try is called the tween function. It is
located on the animation toolbar with the circles icon .
Tween will insert a number of slides determined by you around slides
you have already created. This can help to smooth animation. Tweening
will creating gradual effects between slides to make the animation
more fluid. Try it.
