The emphasis of the Run & Walk is on health and fitness. This fun run is an
official event of the Pride Week Celebrations. This fun run is not only for the gay and lesbian community, but
for the whole community. Participation in this race does not denote sexual preference or orientation. |

Houston FrontRunners' Challenge |
This year the Houston FrontRunners are Challenging FrontRunners (or any GLBT) running clubs
in Texas and Louisiana. Times for the top four runners from each team will be added then ranked to determine the
winners. |
Awards for the FrontRunners will be distributed at a gathering later in the day. |

Restrictions |
No Bicycles, hand cycles, hand cranked wheelchairs, motorized vehicles, roller
skates, babe joggers, animals, or skateboards will be allowed on the race course at any time. No exceptions. |
Participation in the 5k is governed by the Competition Rules of USA Track &
Field and Wheelchair Athletics USA. |
Please do not wear earphones during the race, as these can be hazardous. |

Awards |
The first Overall Male & Female, Masters Male & Female, and Overall Wheelchair
will receive trophies. |
The top three males & females in each age group will receive an award. |
The top five in the 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 and 50-54 age categories will receive
an award. |

AssistHers
is a volunteer organization formed in 1996 to provide in-home support and care to lesbian women with chronic or
disabling illnesses. |
Additionally, in an effort to breakdown barriers which lesbians face when accessing
care, the AssistHers Education Committee is working with over 400 local physicians, nurse practitioners, and mental
health care providers to teach them to be more knowledgeable about and responsive to their lesbian patients. |
