McNeese State Wrestling

The club was founded in the Fall of 1998. Through hard work and some
dedicated wrestlers it was possible to get our program off the ground. The
McNeese wrestling club became a member of the National collegiate wrestling
association shortly after the University recognized us as a club. Through the
NCWA we are able to offer a haven for Louisiana wrestlers looking to compete
at the college level. The Club is currently competing in every NCWA
tournament within driving distance ( 8-10 hours). And soon to be competing in
duel meets when we build a large enough roster. McNeese state is one of the
only colleges in Louisiana offering the great opportunity to do battle with
other colleges.
    We work with wrestlers of all experience.  The team has wrestlers with as
much as 10 years on the mat to as little as 10 seconds on the mat.  Every
wrestler that comes to us, brings something that will help the team.  We are
looking to build some solid well rounded wrestlers with the desire to
continue competing on the college level.  The eligibility requirements are
simply being a McNeese student in good standing and maintaining a passing
GPA.   The NCWA follows the NCAA guidelines as closely as possible on
eligibility requirements with some exceptions because we are club teams and

    A note from the Captain: McNeese is an institution of higher learning.  We enroll in our classes and pay our tuition so we can get an education.  In my book school comes first.  However, we are wrestlers and we do put forth the dedication, determination, discipline and attitude necessary to walk off the mat in
victory.  I enjoy teaching new wrestlers as well as helping to refine skills
of seasoned wrestlers.  I hope to see you on the mat!!!
