Our purpose:

Not all experiences with martial arts training turn out positive. While study and participation in martial arts can have a very good affect on you and your children, it can also result in years of litigation, psychological therapy and trauma. But, armed with knowledge and a little common sense, you can extract the good that martial arts has to offer. As parents of martial arts students, we built this web site to help you along the path.

There are many styles of martial arts and just as many methods of teaching them. Some disciplines will not accept students under age 18 and teach martial arts in small groups. These often function just to keep the "old ways" alive and are not "in business" to make a profit. This web site is not greatly concerned with these kinds of schools. While abuse can still occur, generally only adults are involved.

This web site is concerned with schools that teach children and young adults for profit. Often students, or the parents of students, enter a contractual agreement to make payments for instruction. While many of these schools are very good in both their level of instruction and dealings with students, some are not. The purpose of this web site is to help you get the most enjoyment from your martial arts experience.
