A photo of Miles Davis by Jeff Sedlik.  This was Miles in the late 1980's.  A few years prior to his 1991 death.  I have this photo hanging in my livingroom.  It is titled:  "SHHHH!!"
Dave Brubeck (in the foreground) & his Quartet.  Altoist Paul Desmond is on the left.  It was Desmond that penned the quartets greatest hit: "TAKE FIVE"
Booker  Little.  A great young trumpeter in the 1950's.  Died of Uraemia in 1961.  At the age of 23
Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington & Billy Strayhorn.  Inspired by directions to Ellington's home in Harlem, Strayhorn composed Ellington's most noteable tune:  "Take the A Train"
Don Ellis & his 4 valve trumpet.  The 4th valve let him play quarter tones.  They sound odd to westerners, but in Indian music, they are quite common.  Listen to his tune "33 222 1 222".  It's written in 19/8 time and it swings hard.
