And Then He Was Gone.....

Chapter Thirteen

The lights dimmed As Kane's music started. As always, chills raced along her nerve endings just at the sound of it, even before he came into sight. Then, as the pyro's went off, Kane made his amazing entrance. Her heart leapt to her throat. She couldn't breathe properly, and it wasn't caused from the fireworks either. It was Kane! It was always Kane! He stole her heart and took her breath away! There was something primal or primitive about the music and about him, that just GOT to her, on a deeper, more personal level.

He made his way down the ramp, toward the ring and toward her. Maybe she would get to touch him this time! She almost got to the last time, but that strange woman got to him first. Blaze! Imagine him asking that WOMAN to marry him when she loved him so much more than that BITCH ever could! Everytime she thought about it, she got upset. But here he came! Right toward her! The BITCH was with him!

She was going to take care of that BITCH tonight! She had come prepared to do that very thing. Adjusting her long sleeves, she checked the mechanism to be sure it would work when she wanted it to. Just a few more steps!

Judy and Kane walked around in front of the front row seats. Her foot caught on something. Glancing down, she saw she had hung her foot in the cables there. Placing her hand on the railing for balance, she noticed the blonde come toward her out of the corner of her eye. She tried to pull her foot loose from the coiled cables, but for some reason couldn't. Kane turned back to help her, but she shook her head and told him to go on. Finally thinking she had it free at last, she stepped forward, right into Kane. He turned to catch her, when he felt the sharp, penetrating pain in his back.

"Jesus!" He could not prevent the word from escaping his lips.

Judy's head snapped up in his direction, her eyes going to Kane's then to the face just behind him. Her blue eyes, met the furious green ones, of the woman that had hurt her man. Fury such as she had never known, filled Judy's body. But her first concern was her beloved.

Grabbing hold of the big man, as he sank to his knees, Judy screamed for help and for security, as she realized her Kane had been stabbed. Looking up to where the woman had stood, Judy wasn't surprised to find her gone.

"Damn, will y'all hurry up!" She screamed as help finally got there.

"Help me to my feet. I'm gonna walk out of here!" Kane said weakly.

They managed to get him to his feet and back to the dressing room. Medical help was there waiting for them. They were both covered in blood, her and Kane. Laying him down on a padded table that had been covered with a sheet, Judy removed his mask, and set it aside. She did the same thing with his wrist band, then unsnapped the neck of his ring attire.

Pulling the shoulder down,Judy gasped when she saw the wicked looking wound. Judging by the entry wound, it had been a big blade. And Kane was losing a lot of blood.

Crying uncontrollably, she called for head of security, giving them a detailed description, as best she could, of the woman that did this. Going back to Kane's side, Judy held his hand, more afraid of losing him, than of anything else in her whole life.

"Judy where are you?" Kane tried to raise up, but was prevented from doing so.

"I'm here babe. Right here!" She stepped out from behind the med. tech. that was inserting an I.V. in Kane's arm.

"Ma'am, we're going to transport him to the hospital. We've done all we can for him here."

Kane was soon loaded onto a gurney and carried to the ambulance. Judy was right behind them. Kaliegh caught up with her, telling her they would meet her at the hospital as soon as possible.Nodding her head, Judy rushed out and got in the rental car and followed the ambulance as it flew across town. She parked right behind it at the E.R. and ran inside. A nurse tried to prevent her from going back with Kane, but Judy laid her ass out.

"I AM going in there. And NO BODY is going to stop me! Do YOU HEAR?" She fairly shouted at the surprised hospital staff, then went into the examination room where they had taken Kane.

He looked so pale, so lifeless! He seemed to be having trouble breathing as well. Probably had a punctured lung.

"Miss, you're not suppose to be in here!" The older doctor said to her, but didn't try to make her leave since she wasn't in the way. The fear in her eyes told him, if nothing else did, that this big man was a loved one.

After a few minutes, the old doctor confirmed her suspicions. He did indeed have a punctured lung. "As well as internal bleeding. We will be taking him to surgery up on 2 west.We have to get him ready. You go on, and we'll call you when we're ready to move him up there. You can ride up with him." He said kindly.

Going back out to the waiting room, Judy saw the nurse she'd struck, being helped to her feet. Going over to her, she humbly apologized for hitting her. "He's my fiancee, and some one stabbed him. I shouldn't have struck you, but I was upset and worried about him. Please forgive me." Judy explained softly, wringing her hands.

"You have one hell of a right hook, lady. But I understand!" The woman was going to have one hell of a shiner. It had already closed. Judy was mortified at what she had done to this poor woman.

"Judy! We got here as soon as we could! I thought you could use this." Kaliegh had the foresight to bring her bag. A change of clothes and toilet articles inside.

Judy burst into tears, hugging Kaliegh for her thoughtfulness. Tears filled Kaliegh's eyes as she hugged her friend back. The clothes Judy had on were stiff with Kane's blood. Not only that, but her ring rags weren't exactly suitable for public wear.

"Judy, how is Kane?" Taker asked softly, worry for his friend foremost in his mind.

"They're taking him to surgery. He has a punctured lung and internal bleeding." She raised deadly, cold eyes to his. Void of any emotion except cold vengeance, she continued."I want to know who she is. This BITCH that dared do this thing. I want to know by the time Kane comes out of surgery. Do you hear me, Taker? I want to know NOW!" Then turned away going to the nearest bathroom to throw up.

"Kaliegh go with her." Taker said softly as he headed for the pay phones.

He dialed the head of security. When that man answered, Taker told him what he wanted. "I want the woman's name that did this. I want that name within two hours. And I don't care how you get it." Taker was angry and that anger was coming through loud and clear.

"How do I reach you?" He asked tightly.

"On my cell phone." Taker hung up and went out to the car to get it.

---------

It had been a long three hours, but Kane had come through the surgery, and Taker had gotten the name for her. The BITCH had paid for her ticket with a credit card. A little more checking and she had an address for her as well. Turning to face Taker and Kaliegh, she asked them to stay with Kane till she got back.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked, knowing but hoping he was wrong.

"To make a house call. I feel the need for a little pay-back!" Her frigid tone left little doubt as to who she meant to go see.

"I'll go with you." He said.

"No. I want you to stay here with Kane. I won't be long!" She turned away again, but his words stopped her.

"At least let Kaliegh go with you!" Taker looked at Kaliegh to see if she was up to this, and was shocked to see the eager anticipation in her eyes. He threw back his head and groaned."Women!" He thought.

Judy looked questioningly at her, then nodded her head in satisfaction at what she saw in her friends eyes.

"Come on then, let's go!" The two women left the hospital, determination in every step.

"DAMN!!!! What the hell have I done!" Taker followed seconds later. Better to prevent murder than sit here. Kane would kill him if anything happened to Judy.

An hour later, Judy and Kaliegh returned to the I.C.U. waiting room. Taker stood up when he saw them coming toward him. He returned to the hospital after watching Judy kick that woman's ass into unconsciousness.

"Well.... what the hell happened?" He demanded, noticing Judy had changed clothes again.

"How's Kane?" She asked, actually looking relaxed.

"No change! Now what the hell happened?"

"I whipped the bitch's ass. Then called the law telling them where to find her." Kaliegh couldn't keep from laughing at her friend.

The buzzer in Kane's room sounded and a nurse rushed in to see about him. When she came out she was smiling. "He wants to see you." she said to Judy, then went back to the nurses station.

Judy ran up to his bed side, then leaned down to gently kiss his lips.

************

"Come on, Kal. There is nothing more we can do here tonight." Taker sounded as exhausted as Kaliegh felt, and now that they knew Kane would be alright, sleep sounded very good.

"Okey...let me just tell Judy good night." Kaliegh said as she got up and made her way towards the room were Kane was being kept.

"Ya'll still here?" Judy asked when Kaliegh and Taker came into the room. "Ya look tired. Why don't ya go on now and get some sleep."

"Actually we came to tell you good night. I was able to get a bit later flight tomorrow, so we'll stop in before we leave town." Kaliegh stepped forward and hugged Judy while Taker put a hand on Judy's shoulder, letting her know that they were there for her and Kane.

"Thank you...." Judy said as tears once again touched her eyes. "I don't know how to tell you how much I appreciate ya'll being here with Kane and I."

"No problem, Judy. That's what friends are for." Kaliegh said with a smile. We'll see you tomorrow before we leave...And you get yourself some sleep too, okey."

The next morning when Taker and Kaliegh arrived back at the hospital, they were happy to see kane sitting up in a chair.

"Doctor says he should be able to leave day after tomorrow and possibly be back in action by the beginning of December. We're gonna use this down time to get everything ready for our wedding which hopefully will be sometime before the new year." Judy said as she looked over at her beloved husband to be.

"I'm so happy everything is going to be okey. You and Kane definitely deserve to have things go your way." Kaliegh said with genuine happiness, then she became serious. "That was some scary shit that went down last night though."

"Chad called this morning and said that the WWF is taking extra precautions starting tonight to make sure something like this doesn't happen again." Taker said as he put a huge arm around Kaliegh's shoulders and pulled her close to him. Taker had toyed all night long with the idea of asking Kaliegh not to accompany him to the ring anymore. He knew it would be useless to even suggest it though....She would hear nothing of it. He just didn't want to take any chances with her.

The four spent the next hour talking until Taker glanced at his watch and saw that they only had 45 minutes until their flight left.

"I wish we could stay longer, but I'm sure ya'll would quickly tire of us." Kaliegh said, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "Anyway....I hate good-byes.....So, you two take care of each other and we'll be in touch with you in a day or two."

---------

RAW was live that night from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Brothers from Hell were supposed to have a match against the Rock and Bossman, but with Kane out of action, plans had to be changed real quick like. It was now The Undertaker against Mankind in a No Holds Barred match that would rekindle their long feud.

Jim Ross: "Good Lord!!! Mankind has the mandible claw locked in on Jaden!!"

The King: "Well, she got herself involved in this match and now she's paying the price. Mankind!! Watch your back!! Undertaker has a chair!!"

Jim Ross: "And you can hear the sickening thud as Undertaker introduces Mankind's head to the steel chair."

The Undertaker proceeded to hit Mankind two more times with the chair. Then throwing the chair down on the mat, He positioned Mankind for the Tombstone Piledriver and planted him on the steel.
