And Then He Was Gone.....

Chapter Seven

While Taker and Kaliegh were having breakfast at their hotel in St. Louis, Kane stirred in the big bed, slowly coming awake. Reaching out his huge hand, all he came in contact with was empty space. Feeling around for her, he came fully awake, realizing he was alone. Opening his eyes, the view that greeted him was amazing. Funny he hadn't noticed the window lastnight. The sun was just coming up over the mountain peaks, with the blue haze drifting down into the valley below, giving everything a purplish hue. Swinging his long legs over the side of the bed, the big man walked barefoot and naked down the hall in search of her.

Judy was out on the deck drinking a cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette. She was wearing a t-shirt with a unicorn on it and that was all. Kane watched from the kitchen as she sat on the railing, bring one leg up across the smooth wooden beam. Tossing her hair back out of her face, she sipped from her cup, obviously relishing the early morning air. Kane smiled wickedly as the t-shirt rode up exposing one smooth hip and buttocks. Helping himself to a cup, he joined her out on the deck.

Judy was deep in thought and was unaware of being watched. Stepping down from the railing, she leaned across it. This was her favorite time of day here. She felt peace and serenity here. Her emotions were in turmoil. What was she to do? Go on as though nothing had happened between her and Kane? She just didn't know.

She jumped when she felt two massive arms close around her and pull her back against an equally huge body. Grinning wickedly, she leaned back against a chest as hard as a brick wall. Yet, she had found comfort there just a few short hours ago. Kane had awakened feelings she thought were long dead.

"Mornin, love." He growled softly in her ear. As he nuzzled THAT spot on her neck, his hands roamed at will over her body.

As short as she was, she felt his hard nakedness through the thin, worn cotton of her t-shirt. With a moan, she turned in his arms and accepted his kiss, giving back as much passion as she recieved.

The couple stood there like that for several minutes, enjoying the feel of each others bodies, seperating only at the sound of breaking glass. Kane had knocked his cup off the railing where he had sat it just minutes before.

Chuckling softly, he pulled away, looking deep into her desire glazed eyes. "We better take this inside." as he took her hand intent on leading her back into the house.

"I don't think so!" The look she gave him left him no doubt as to what she had in mind.

Very carefully, she perched herself on the top railing, pulling him to her. Their lips once met in passion. It was a long while later before they went back inside.

----------

"Taker, they will be here, now will you settle down! Kane called from the airport, just before they boarded their flight." Kaliegh had been trying to calm her man, for the passed half hour, and nothing seemed to work. She had never seen him this way before, so put out, so annoyed.

"They damn well better be." He snarled, continued to pace back and forth. Kaliegh nervously chewed a fingernail, not knowing what else to do or say. Just then a knock on the door, drew their attention.

"About damn time!" He snarled marching to the door and snatching it open. Kane and Judy stood on the other side. "Where the hell have you two been?" Taker growled, angry beyond belief.

Kane's eyes narrowed to mere slits, his anger rising to meet Taker's. "I don't think you need to worry about it. Both of us are here on time, two days early. I just thought I'd let you know we had arrived." Kane turned to walk away when he was stopped by Taker's next remark.

"Judy I won't have you running off when ever the urge strikes you. You have a job to do here, and you're damned well gonna do it." His tone was absolutely frigid.

Her eyes had turned as cold as ice, her lips thinned to a straight line. The hostile look in her eyes should have warned him off, but it didn't. "My job? You are telling me to do my job? Alright! I'll do my job! But the results fall on Your head. You just remember that, sugar!" She said softly, seductively,in complete contradiction to the look in her eyes. Then turned and walked away.

Kane was amazed. Her tone belied the look in her eyes and her rigid body. Looking at Taker, he noticed a slightly alarmed look in that one's eyes. Kane turned and followed her down the hall to their room.

Judy was seething; the nerve of the man! Kane put his bags down beside the bed, and sat down on the foot, watching her jerk clothes out of her bag. Finally finding her sweats, she changed into them, unmindfull of Kane watching from the foot of the bed.Almost surprised to see him there, Judy told him she'd be back later. "I have to work off some of this anger." Then she was gone. Some time later, she returned in a much calmer frame of mind.

---------

Judy stayed at the hotel while Kane and the rest went to the autograph session that had been scheduled for the next afternoon. Her and Kane had planned to go to dinner afterward. While waiting for his return, she took a long, lingering bubble bath using some of the scented oils she knew he liked.

Since their arrival, Kaliegh and her had not had a chance to talk. Kaliegh promised they would have lunch the next day before going to the arena. She was still soaking when Kane returned to the hotel. Quietly, he removed his clothes and joined her in the tub. Laying there with her eyes closed, Judy cried out in alarm till she realized it was Kane.

"Thought you might like some company." He said, stepping over into the big tub, devilment in his eyes, a wicked grin on his handsome face.

The steaming hot water had become cold, and the bathroom a sopping mess before they left the huge tub. Dinner was long forgotten.

----------

SummerSlam was sold out. Tonights main event, reguardless of what the card said, was Taker vs. Kane. They had a rivalry leading up to this and going by the t-shirt sales, their merchandise was going faster than anyone elses.

Kaliegh and Judy were both scared to death. Kaliegh hadn't gotten use to all of this yet, and tonight would be Judy's first time out. She picked the name Blaze as her ring name. For some odd reason she felt it suited her, and so did Kane. Kaliegh was already dressed and made up and was chatting with Judy trying to put her at ease. After poking herself in the eye for the second time with the mascara wand, Judy gave up.

"Damn, that hurts!" She muttered, wiping her eye with a kleenex. Kaliegh smiled at her friend, as she smeared the black mess even more.

"So how are you and Kane getting along?" Kaliegh asked, watching her reaction in the mirror.

"Ok, I guess. It's the best sex I've ever had. As long as we keep it on that level and not try to make it into something it's not, everything will be fine. And he's my boss. I have to remember that."

Judy's voice remained neutral, but Kaliegh noticed the hint of color staining her friend's cheeks, the way her whole face seemed to light up at the mention of his name. Kaliegh suspected she had fallen for the big man in red. And Kane treated her gently. With a sigh, Judy once more turned her attention to her make up.

----------

Judy took her seat at ringside next to the entrance ramp. She felt the familiar thrill run through her when Taker's music began, but this time she was pissed off as well. He had not taken kindly to the changes Judy had made in their plans. Instead of accompanying Kane and Paul Bearer to the ring, she would come from the seats. And she absolutely would not attack Kaliegh. "I refuse to do that! There's no reason to do that." she had told the big man. Taker was too angry to even reply. The look he gave her, sent a shiver of alarm racing along her nerves. Taker had turned and stormed out of Kane's dressing room without saying anything to anyone.

Taker and Kaliegh made quite the spectacular entrance, with Taker going down on one knee, and reaching out a hand to her, after removing his ring robe. Kaliegh took his hand in both of hers, and brought it up to her lips. The crowd went wild, seeing the Lord of Darkness with his Lady. Then came Kane with Paul Bearer! Judy thought he was hotter than the pyro's that were going off all around. He paused momentarily, next to her. She reached out and touched his arm. Caressed would be a more accurate description. Their eyes met for the space of a heartbeat, but her heart was racing madly from the brief contact.

Then Kane made his way into the ring, Paul Bearer at his side. After Taker knocked Kane out of the ring for the second time, that was her cue to get involved.

The match went along as expected. J.R. and Jerry Lawler doing the commentary. Then Kane was knocked over the top rope, landing on his feet, just a short distance away. He glanced her way out of the corner of his eye. The look she gave him took his breath away. Taker took full advantage of Kane's distraction, and flew over the top rope, knocking Kane flat.

"Well, King, Kane seems distracted tonight. He needs to keep his mind on the match. Taker seems to be in a rather nasty mood this evening." J.R. said.

"What is it with Kane anyway? He can't seem to make up his mind as to where his attention needs to be." Jerry Lawler replied.

Kane got up and went after Taker with a vengeance. He was pissed and it showed. Taker had Kane up against the ropes when Kali grabbed Kane's foot, making him trip.He turned around as though to grab her, when Taker spun him around and whipped him across the ring, following through with a clothesline across the top rope.

This was her cue. While Kane stood there, Judy leaped across the guard rail. Kaliegh ran around the ring, intent on stopping her from interfering, when Taker sudden climbed through the ropes and grabbed Judy by the throat, in preparation of chokeslamming her.

"GOOD LORD!!!! Who is that woman? And what the hell has gotten into the Undertaker?" J.R said, his disbelief obvious.

"She jumped across the railing. But what's he doing to her, J.R.?" The King asked.

Taker had her up. Kaliegh stopped halfway to them, shocked that Taker was getting ready to do this thing. She had known he was angry at both Judy and Kane, but she had not expected the black temper he was known to have, to surface like this. The clothesline over the rope had been high and had struck Kane across the throat, and now this. Kali could see fear and anger in Judy's eyes, even from where she stood. What the hell was Taker thinking? Kane was still trying to get his breath, when he realized Taker was about to chokeslam Judy on the floor.

Kane stopped Taker before he could slam Judy down on the concrete, with a boot to the mid-section. Judy fell to her knees, as the two men carried their fight away from her. Kaliegh ran over to see if she had been hurt.

"He's gonna pay for that." Judy said as she got to her feet. Paul Bearer was moaning something in his signature voice.

Kane and Taker were fighting for real on the other side of the ring. Taker grabbed hold of Kane and threw him back into the ring. Judy stood there watching, anger growing by leaps and bounds, when Kane was thrown out of the ring again, this time hitting his head hard on the concrete. As Taker came across the ring, intent on continuing the fight out on the floor, Judy ripped off her caftan, revealing a long tunic and pajama type pants underneath.

Assuming the traditional martial arts stance, Judy was ready for what ever Taker had in mind. When he grabbed her to move her out of the way, Judy hit him with a spinning side kick to the head. He stumbled back, but she came at him, hitting him with a jumping kick to the face. Taker's nose and mouth was bleeding. With hell in his eyes, he started toward her, intent on whipping her butt.

Kane was groggily trying to get to his feet. Judy still had on the veil that was part of her costume. With Taker charging her, she took her time, then at the right moment, met him with kicks to the ribs, the legs, and where ever else she could land them.

The crowd was going wild. Here was a woman taking on the Undertaker. Actually standing protectively over Kane. The crowd loved it. Finally security arrived to escort this woman away, but not before Taker backhanded her, knocking her flat. After that, the match continued.

-----------

Later, back in the dressing room, Judy had an icepack against her swelling cheek. Kane was showering. Kaliegh had came in to see how her friend was. Judy still had murder in her eyes. Kaliegh gently pulled the icepack away to see how bad it was. Sucking in her breath at the sight of the purple mess, all Kaliegh could do was apologize.

"I don't know what got into him!" Kaliegh was miserable. Judy was bruised from the temple down to her chin, and would be lucky if her eye wasn't black and swollen shut.

Judy calmly lifted tear-filled eyes to her friend's, and said "Tell Taker the velvet gloves come off now. After tonight, no more playing around."

Kaliegh was miserable to say the least. Never had she seen such a cold look in her friend's eyes. Apologizing once more, Kaliegh left Kane's dressing room. Just as she closed the door behind her, Kane came out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his hips, drying his hair with another one.

"Was that Kaliegh?" He asked softly. At her silent nod, Kane sat down and pulled her onto his lap. "Let me see your face!" He said taking the icepack away. As he examined her swollen, bruised cheek, he thought to himself that Taker, had a lot to answer for, this night. The muscle in Kane's cheek began to twitch, indicating just how angry he really was.

*********

"You mind telling me what the fuck just happened out there?" Kaliegh had just stormed into Taker's dressing room after seeing Judy. She was pissed and confused. But most of all, she couldn't understand what had gotten into Judy and Taker. "Ya'll just blew that whole angle all to hell tonight! What the fuck is up with that shit, huh?" Kaliegh stood with her hands on her hips, glaring with venom in her eyes at the man who had taken her heart. "I'm going back to the hotel. When you have some answers, then you come and see me...but not one second before." Kaliegh turned and left before Taker could say a word or see the tears that threatened to fall.

Taker was angry beyond belief. Lately everything seemed to be complete chaos. Now, he had not only hurt Kaliegh, but Kane and Judy as well. Taker couldn't believe the nerve of Judy. Refusing to work the angle the way it had been originaly written. "Damn that woman!" Taker growled into the empty room as he drove his fist into the hard concrete wall. Taker threw the door of his dressing room open and left. He walked out of the arena with a look in his eyes that no one dared to meet. Trying to figure out what happened tonight, Taker climbed into his rental car. He wondered why Judy did what she did, and why his reaction towards her was so hateful. Several hours later, Taker still had no answers to the questions that played over and over in his mind. He turned the car in the direction of the hotel, hoping Kaliegh would understand. Kaliegh lay in bed wide awake, but faked sleep when she heard the room key being inserted into the lock. Taker walked into the room, and saw still damp tears on her cheek. Feeling like his heart would break into tiny pieces, he sat down in a chair with a heavy sigh. He had hoped he would be able to talk to her before tomorrow. Their flight left at 7:00am for Kansas City. At noon, there was a charity event followed by an autograph session that ended at 5:00pm. The show started at 6:00pm. Taker got up and kneeled down beside her. Brushing the hair out her face, he said "I'm sorry, Kal...so very sorry for this whole mess." Then he got up and sat back down. As he watched her breathing become deep and even, he too fell into sleep.

The next morning Taker awoke to find that Kaliegh was gone. She left a note saying that she had traded with Owen Hart for an earlier flight and that she wanted to see him and Judy the moment they arrived in Kansas City.

-----------

After arriving at the hotel and checking in, Judy walked slowly to Kaliegh's room. She had a bad feeling about the reason why Kaliegh wanted to see her. Taking a deep breath to calm her racing heart, Judy knocked on the door. On the second knock, Kaliegh opened the door and asked Judy to come in. Taker was already there but Judy could sense the silence and tension that hung in the air like a heavy fog. As soon as Judy sat down, Kaliegh began to speak.

"I have thought about this for so long and so hard, it's making my head hurt....I don't want to have to think about it any more." Kaliegh paused for a moment as tears began to fall freely from her eyes. "These last few months have been the bet I've ever had in my life. I love working with the WWF, and most of all, I love working with you Taker, and with you, Judy.....until last night. I don't know what the problem is between you two, but until you two can solve your differences between each other, I don't want to have anything to do with either of you. Please don't try to make me change my mind, because I won't do it. I will not be stuck in the middle of your little fights anymore."

"Kaliegh, what about..." Taker began to say, but was cut off.

"Shut up!" Kaliegh hissed back at him. "I worked out an angle with Paul Bearer that has been approved by Mr. McMahon. He also told me take all the time off that I needed. How long I will be gone is up to you two. Now please leave." Taker and Judy stared at Kaliegh for several moments, both trying to fathom what she had just said and was doing. Finally they left.
