No Nigel Next Year

We'll never see this again (sob sob)

The shock announcement was made on Tuesday morning leaving Bullets fans wondering what possible resemblance Coach Randall's side will bear to the old one. Nigel, in his final playing season, will now look for a new team with a possible coaching opportunity in the near future.

Nigel finishes his Bullets career as the leading scorer in the clubs history. Let's hope someday he comes back as head coach of the Bullets. Good luck at your new club!

Burnsy's back though

Last season's Mr Dependable, Joel Burns has signed a new contract with the club, the length of which is unknown, but is thought to be of around 2-3 years in keeping with chairman Craig Bown's long term strategy. A recent announcement by Richard Parker said

"Europe is a big ambition for us. We would love to represent the BBL in the SuproLeague and fly the flag for Britain.

"We will not give up on this ambition. We were disappointed that we didn't get a wildcard into the SuproLeague, but we believe that the Bullets are a club that could compete in Europe and we want a chance to prove ourselves at the highest level possible."

Hear hear. Towers only got in because they're from London.

still the Pertemps Bullets

Pertemps were the second name back for another year after the re-signing of Joel Burns, and will keep their name in the title of the club, the Pertemps Bullets Birmingham. Still can't quite get used to it but ah, well. If you wanna know more about them go to www.Pertemps.co.uk and find out they're just a recruitment agency. (No mention of the Bullets on their site though- what's that about?)

No News is Good News?

Well since we had the new coach confirmed, things have slowed down a bit. If you didn't already know (I'm sure you did)

  • Joel Burns has been offered a contract
  • Emiko Etete has been offered a contract
  • Nigel Lloyd has been offered a contract
  • Corey Jackson has been released
  • Shawn Jamison has been released
  • Justin Phoenix has been released
  • Yorick Williams rejected a contract
  • Lee Walker has gone to Thames Valley

Still no word on the status of Fab, Clive and co. But Bullets are definitely NOT in Europe, and it's still possible that Leicester, Derby or even Manchester could fold due to various reasons (lack of money, courts, owners, etc) which would make a huge dent in the Northern Conference.

    MVP 2000: Joel Burns

Congratulations to Joel Burns who is Bullets MVP 2000 according to the visitors to this site. Joel managed to get a massive 40% of the votes (not 2 of 5!) with Nigel Lloyd the runner up. Check the new poll out on the right hand side.

I've been very lazy recently and with the lack of Bullets news, I've got bored so here's some pictures of Nigel Lloyd looking at his best.

  • one for the ladies.....maybe not

    This'd be my passport photo

    Yeah! Bullets!

    errr...

    Our New Coach... LANCE RANDALL

I hope he's got a mate in a white suit

Bullets have finally named their man. Give a big Bullets welcome to 29-year old Lance Randall from Webster University in the States. He was appointed coach on Friday and put his name to a 3-year contract. He seems to have a good record at Webster too. He turned the teams fortunes around big time, from a pathetic losing record of 2-23 to a winning record next year for the first time in the University's history.

The year after he took the team to the conference championship. So it looks like the team are in good hands for next year and now the team can start recruiting some players! I wonder what happened to Nick Nurse......

NB: Sorry about the late service at the moment (even more so than usual) but I'm sooo busy with some things at the moment. If you've mailed me about something then don't expect a reply too soon. OK?
