Rosie O'Donnel was born in Commack, Long Island, New York on March 21st, 1962. Her father's name is Edward O'Donnel, and her mothers name was Roseann Marths O'Donnel. She died March 17th, 1972 of cancer. Her sibling's names were, Eddie, Danny, Maureen and Timmy, Rosie being in the middle. Her schools were Sawhill Elemantray, then Rolling Hills, then Commack High School. She was voted Senior Class President, Homecoming Queen, and Class Clown. Then she went to dickinson sollege on a freshmen scholarshiop and transferred one year later to the theatre department of Boston University, there she dropped out at 18 with a 1.47 grade point average. Her first TV role was Maggie O'Brien, the upstairs neighbor on Gimme a Break. After that, she hosted VH1's Stand Up Spotlight. Then she had her own show, Fox's Stand by your man (1992), Then, she was in Sleepless in Seattle as Mag Ryan's friend, and then Starred in the movie Another Stakeout with Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez. Her next film was Betty Rubble in the popular movie, The Flintstones. Then, she was in the misguided move, Exit to Eden. That same year, she made her Broadway debut as Rizzo in the revival of Grease! Next was Now and Then when she played a wisecracking doctor portrayed by Christina Ricci. Then she did the comedy Beautiful Girls. Then, she adopted her son, Parker Jaren, on May 27, 1995. After the arrival of Parker, she continued to do all the stuff that she used to, including making the movie Harriet the Spy. Then she realized that she was missing out on most of her son's life, and decided to make a career change to a tv talk show host.So, in January, she got a deal with Warner brothers to host a new daytime talk show maodeled after the Merv Griffin and Micke Douglas show. She wanted to avoid all the sleaziness of the other talk shows. In march, 1996, after filming the movie Wide Awake, she began working on the Rosie O'Donnel Show. The show made its national debut on June 10th, 1996, after 2 weeks of rehearsal shows. It became the hottest daytime talk show since the Oprah Winfrey Show. Now, rosie lives in the former helen hayes Mansion in Nyack, NY with her 2 children Parker and Chelsea. (Chelsea was born on September 20, 1997) She still has an Upper-West side Manhattan apartment.
