Update 6/11/99: The niece of former Rat Peter Zezel has passed away. Peter did not spend a lot of time with the Rats, leaving the Rats to play with the Montreal Canadiens (NHL) where he was closer to his niece. Peter was traded by the Canucks only minutes before the trading dedline to the Anahiem Mighty Ducks (NHL), but refused to go. He was allowed the time off to spend time with his dying niece. Peter, his niece and family have been in our prayers since he left us. Our deepest condolences are sent to all of them. Congratulations to Geordie Kinnear who will be getting married on July 10. Rumors: We have heard many rumors since the end of the post-season and figured that we would put them down on the books. However, for the record, these are only rumors and we will only know that they are true when or if they occur. We will update the news as frequently as possible. Alexander Semak will not be playing for the Rats next year but instead will be playing in a European league. Coach Cunniff will not be returning next season and assistant coach Red Gendron will be stepping in, in his place. Colin White will be playing for the Devils next season as a full member of their roster, as will Jeff Williams and John Madden. We will lose Ken Sutton to the Expansion Draft and may lose Eric Bertrand and Steve Brule to the Expansion draft also. Back
