Goal Shooter

Moves in and around goal third & goal circle.
Main role is to shoot goals and be available in the goal circle.
Communicates with Goal Attack.
Defends Goal Keep (one on one).
Short, sharp movements, shooting and rebounding are required skills.

* The Goal Shooter and Goal Attack must be able to work well together.
Finding space in the goal circle can be difficult at times, so it’s important to talk to each other.
* Shooters must be tough, both mentally and physically, and concentration is essential when shooting.

* Shooters must put variety into their game.
Don't become too predictable.
Change the style of your game and vary the timing of your shot.
* As a shooter also learn to defend very well. Make it easier for your defenders by pressuring the opposing team all the way down the court (especially when playing Goal Attack). Don’t worry about the missed shot - focus on getting the ball back.
* Knees should be slightly bent to get good movement and follow through.
* Ball does not lie in palm of the hand but on the base of the fingers and rolled off as released.
* Regular practise is essential (100 - 200 per day). Incorporate in your practise quick footwork around cones, dodging, jumping for rebounds and ball work.
* concentrate on your shooting arc rather than what the defence is doing.
