Brian Bazett:
Brian was born in Kelowna and has lived here since. He started his soccer at age 7 with the Kelowna Club and has been a Select player for 3 years. His specialty is defense and he is proud of having won the Kelowna Cup three years in a row. He also enjoys cross country skiing, sailing, ping pong, road hockey and sports in general. His favorite team is Ajax and he likes Holland, Germany and Brazil. He prefers English at school and his hobby is making things. Brian's favorite food is spaghetti and he liked Titanic. He considers himself to be a friendly person ready to help others when they need it.


Gary Allen:
Gary came from England 2 years ago. He is a native of Northampton where he started football at age 6. He played 2 years for Wooton, 1 year for Gregory Celtic and 1 year with Dustin F.C. Since in Canada he played until last year for Rutland and he is in his second year with the Selects as a left back. He remembers as his greatest moment in soccer marking a Gregory Celtic man out of the game. His favorite team is Arsenal and he likes England and nothing but. Of course he savors York shire pudding. Gary plays hockey and roller blade. In school he likes gym and French. He has a dog and he is an energetic, peaceful and funny kid.



Chris Bazett:
Chris was born here in Kelowna. He has played soccer for 7 years since he was 6 years old. Three of those years have been with the Select program. He is a midfielder with the Select Team and his greatest soccer feat was to place 2nd. in the B.C. Provincial Finals last year. Chris also enjoys skiing, tennis, sailing, road hockey, basketball and volleyball. He is a Manchester United fan and likes Germany, Brazil and Australia. Favorite subject at school is English and Home Ec, favorite movie is Titanic and he likes eating pickles. He considers himself as a motivated individual determined to try his best in soccer and other activities. A nice and friendly guy he says.



Mark McGlinchey:
Mark was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he lived before coming to Kelowna. He started playing football at the age of eight with Loanhead Boys Club in Scotland for 2 years. He now plays with the Select Team in the left midfield position. Mark is proud of having won the most improved player of the year in 1995/96. He also plays basketball, volleyball and tennis. Justly so his favorite team is Glasgow Celtic F.C. and his best 3 countries are Scotland, Ireland and Italy. He likes eating fries and his favorite TV show is Home Improvement. He enjoys P.E. at school and he is interested in biking and swimming. Mark describes himself as the wee Scottish laddie with great skills and a cool accent.



Josh Holland:
Josh was born in New Westminster and also lived in White Rock before moving to Kelowna. He has been playing soccer since the age of six for teams under the C.O.Y.S.A. umbrella. Most of the time he plays midfield and his greatest soccer achievement is being chosen for the select team. Josh also likes basketball and has a brown belt in Karate. His favorite pro team is the Brazilian National side and his choice of the 3 best countries is Brazil, Argentina and Italy. In his spare time he likes to hang out with friends and eat hamburgers. Favorite movies are ConAir, Braveheart and Jurassic Park 1 and 2. At school he likes English. As hobbies he enjoys listening to music and playing Nintendo 64. He regards himself as funny, but also pretty mature. Smart and very athletic.



Mike Wannop:
Mike was born here in Kelowna and has been playing soccer since he was six years old. Six years with Westside teams and two years with the Kelowna Celtics Selects. For the most part he plays defense and midfield. His biggest accomplishment in soccer has been starting out for the Celtics and meeting a bunch of new friends. Mike does many other sports like basketball, volleyball, tennis, roller blading, swimming and snow boarding. His favorite pro soccer teams are Brazil, Italy and Holland. Mike has a special interest in drawing and likes P.E. at school, the movie The Rock, and the TV show Friends. His favorite food is Caesar salad and shrimp. He describes himself as funny and imaginative. He is very outgoing and enjoys meeting new people.



Jamie Cross:
Jamie Louis was born in Kelowna and started soccer at the age of seven. He played for the Mission Soccer Club for five years before making the Select Team two years ago. His specialty is midfield either center or wing although he too can play in defense. His most memorable moment in soccer is when he had three assists, one header goal and another goal from 20 yards out. Jamie also appreciates earning a second place in the Provincial Finals with his Select Team. He likes Golf, spaghetti and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In his spare time he listens to music and plays basketball. He enjoys the challenge of competing against bigger guys and says that he has quick feet and is not afraid of tackles. He considers himself an athletic hard worker that cares for others.



Matthew Ratzlaff:
Matthew was born in Edmonton, Alberta, where he lived before moving to Kelowna. He joined soccer at the age of nine and he plays defense and midfield most of the time. His biggest accomplishment in soccer is making the Selects and getting 2nd. place in the Provincial Finals. He also enjoys other sports like snow boarding, wake boarding, golf, scuba dive and basketball. His favorite team is Ajax, favorite food is pizza, physical education at school, and the Star Wars Trilogy movies. His other hobbies are swimming and mountain biking. Matthew says he is a Christian ant that it has been a challenge to join his team. He hopes to have lots of fun on the field and to get to know his team mates.



Jonathan Watson:
Jonathan, better known as J.P., was born in Kelowna and has lived here since. He started soccer at the early age of four playing in Club Leagues until three years ago when he was chosen for the Select Team. He is a Forward and his greatest accomplishment was making 2nd. in the Provincial finals. His favorite Pro Team is Canada and his choice of the best soccer countries are Italy, Brazil and England. J.P. also plays Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Rollerblading, Skiing and Running. In his spare time he hangs around with friends and watches TV. At school he likes P.E. and Math and keeps a B+ average. Favorite movie is Mortal Kombat. His hobbies are computers and ping pong. He says to be a nice and caring guy that tries his hardest at everything and plans to never stop playing soccer.
