Elway on the Mike
He may be losing games this season, but Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has not lost John Elway. Denver's former star QB, who retired last April, spoke with Sports Illustrated writer Rick Reilly on Monday and said he is still one of Shanahan's biggest fans. "Just because they (the Broncos) are having a tough year, and a lot of injuries," Elway said, "doesn't make him any worse a coach now than he was the last two years when he won the Super Bowl." Denver is 2-6 heading into its Week 9 matchup against the San Diego Chargers.
