Boathouse
and Equipment Needs |
November, 2001 |
The boats are fiber reinforced plastic shells (monocoque construction),
which are over 60 feet long. Many styles of racing shell configuration are
represented in the boathouse: eights, fours, pairs, plus quadruple, double, and single
sculls. |
Currently, the Oakland Strokes have 20 shells: |
|
- 3 Three year old 8+'s (varsity racing)
- 9 older Vespoli 8+s for training and racing
- 2 Schoenbraud 8's for training only
- 4 New 4+'s for training and racing
- 2 Older 4+'s (one is a quad)
|
We also have: |
|
- 5 Launches- 14' V-Hulled
- 7 15-hp outboard motors
- one racing shell trailer
- 12 cox box systems
- 18 Concept II ergs
- one Ford F150 truck.
|
Our equipment wish list includes: |
|
- Lockers for the coaches and athletes for inside the new
boathouse. We have some but need more.
- Lockable storage boxes....metal for storing items in the new
boathouse. We will be sharing space and must put all of our parts and equipment in
locked boxes so it doesn't disappear.
- VCR/TV combo. We are going to mount it in the
boathouse on a locked mount, so it shouldn't get stolen. We have a VCR, so just a TV
would be great.
- New Truck (to pull trailer)
- Parents to help with maintenance on boats, trailer and
boathouse.
