Losing streak ends in Leiden

After losing 6 games in a row, Jumping Crabs finally managed to leave the crisis behind and get back into the game. After a lot of negative events within the group, the team put their heads together and decided to leave all the bullshit behind. To do so, the whole team gathered the evening before the game against BS Leiden in Breda to have dinner and hit the city. This teambuilding-trick didn't fail, cause the next day everybody did what they had to do and the victim was called BS Leiden. We kicked their asses!!

In the first half both teams didn't give much away to each other. With an 3-pointer from Rob we went into the half-time break with a 1 point lead, 28-29. In the break the coaching-staff assured us that we were much better and that the time and the place were right to end our losing-streak. So we came out, and we came out hard. The bombing squad started to fire their bombs, which drove the Leiden defence totally crazy. Dave was throwing one hitter after another. He was backed up by Olaf's shots. After about 7 3-pointers our opponent was played numb. We were all over them, and they had no chance of winning the game anymore. We gave everything we had. We struggled for every ball-possession. Andrew's bleeding nose was the prove of our fighting will. The momentum was totally on our side. When the clock ran out of time, the scoreboard said 53-66. YES, the first win since two months. (ironically, also against BS Leiden, 6 dec. 1997) Even without our star-center Stefan, we broke the ban. It was a team play. The younger players (Tertius, Joost and Max) also did a fantastic job coming off the bench. A solid play was their contribution. Joost de Clerck is a junior center who rejoined us this game. He had to leave us during this season due to bad results at school. Now it's going better and he's back on our team.
