So I decided, rather than speak to any of the assistant coaches that I would spend a few minutes with the man himself, coach Wayne Morgan, this is what I learned.
1. Allan Gomez either has already, or will be very soon, transfering from the Beach to a D2 school in Idaho.
2. Brad Smith, a 6'3" shooting gaurd from Cypress JC, has the coaching staff excited because he should turn out to be the outside shooter that we needed since about, oh,... 1983. Coach Morgan stated that "Brad gets his shoot off very fast" which of course is unlike Allan Gomez who took about 4 minutes to hoist his bricks.
3. Rudy Williams, the 6'9" center from Dixie JC will immediately be plugged in to the center position. In response to the fact that his assist to turnover ratio is terrible, coach Morgan indicated that this was an area that they would have to work on.
4. The main emphasis at this point in time has been to ensure that players pass their classes during the spring semester and to get them enrolled in summer school.
5. And the big news is.... I was sworn to secrecy so you'll just have to wait.!
On the coaching front...
1. Ronnie Dean has been named an Assistant Coach (old news)
2. Brain Yankelivitz, back after a year of pro ball in Israel, has joined the staff as an assistant in charge of, as Brian put it "anything they need me to do, I would love to work with the big men"
3. Reggie Warford has been named the top assistant and is in the process of moving his family out to the west coast.

Walking into Joe Josts last night was like any other 6th man booster event that I have been to over the past 12-18 months, average age of attendee: 50, average knowledge of basketball: 0.
