Biggest dual meet in Big Nine boys' tennis history

April 22, 1980

Flushing 4, Grand Blanc 3

At Flushing

Flushing, under the guidance of the legendary Art Vince and a gangly left-hander named Curtis Wright, beat Grand Blanc 4-3 to become the first Big Nine Conference team to beat the Bobcats. The historic victory was clinched when Wright beat Grand Blanc's Tom Johnson 7-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.

The triumph ended Grand Blanc's string of consecutive league dual-meet victories at 66. Late on that season, Flushing would become the first team, other than Grand Blanc to win the overall conference title.
