*At the start of the 1976-77 school year, the Michigan High School Athletic Association changed the state tournament format to that of a team tournament with the top two teams in each regional, including ties, and the winner and runner-up at No. 1 singles advancing to the state finals. Before, only the flight winners advanced to the state finals.
**Grand Blanc played in the Class A regional at Rochester. It tied for second place with Port Huron Northern. The Bobcats lost out on going to the state finals, as a team, when they lost a playoff to Port Huron Northern.
***The MHSAA altered the team format to allow teams that score 16 points to qualify for the state finals.
****The 1996 girls' tennis season marked the end of the state's class structure. At the end of the 1996-97 school year, the MHSAA dropped the class (A,B, C-D) format in favor of a divisional format.
