In the year 1999 a phenomenal event occurred which would forever change human history. A gigantic alien spacecraft crashed on Macross island (find it on an atlas I dare you.) At the time of writing it is 2007, so how come no one heard of this crash? The government covered it up by explaining the loud noise and miles of wreckage as a downed weather balloon. The same excuse had previously been used to explain the Autobot and Decepticon crash which happened in Roswell 1947.
		War ravaged the Earth at the time. Never-ending conflicts were fought in the Middle East and the streets of New York during rush hour. This devastation however paled to the threat of possible invasion from outer space. An immediate seize fire was ordered and world's leaders banded together to form a united world government. Under the new world government a research team was assembled to study and restore the damaged space craft. 1. Japan's robotic experts tended to the broken electronics 2. The normally peaceful United States restocked the ship's armoury 3. Iran recharged the craft's depleted batteries thanks to their unusually high reserves of nuclear power 4. Spain offered to assist with the reconstruction, but had an afternoon siesta whilst everyone else slaved in the heat Finally the work was done. A celebration was arranged to unveil the finished space fortress to the masses.
