In August 2002, ORPG members acquired the old abandoned log hauler that has for MANY decades laid on its side in a paddock alongside the Hawkes Bay railway line just north of Malotuku Station. It was rescued to prevent its complete loss, which was otherwise about to happen. Details of the log hauler are not yet certain, as identification marks are missing. However, this matter is being looked into. The log hauler is now safely sited in the Ormondville goods yard where it will become part of a static display. These photos were taken on 14 September 2002.
