A "Special" Win For GangGreen !

We sweated out the on side kicks all season but Speciall Teams coach Mike Westhoff knew his team would come through when it counted.  With a blocked punt returned by Jason Glenn for a touchdown, and a 53 yard bad snap field goal, on grass by John Hall, with 59 seconds remaining, the Jets marched straight into the playoffs giving Oakland it's 3rd consecutive defeat 24-22.
Take into account the missed gimme field goal by former Giant Brad Dalusio, a missed extra point, and a flub kickoff that turned into a touchdown drive, this game was all Special Team for the Jets.
Statisically the Jets shouldn't even have been in the game. The Jets committed 3 turnovers, and the usual penalty free Jets had 8 called against them. Testeverde was sacked for the first time in 8 games, going down 3 times.
Next week it's wild card time in Miami against the nemesis Miami Dolphins.
QColes had his career high 5 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown.
QNew York Jets' LaMont Jordan (34) outruns Oakland Raiders' safety Anthony Dorsett into the end zone on a 46-yard touchdown run in the third quarter (AP Photo/Robert Galbraith)
QCurtis Martin lost out on the rushing title to Priest Holmes. Curtis had 16 rushes for 50 yards and a fumble.
QIncredible was the only way to describe Wayne Chrebet as he showed Jerry Rice something with a tap back catch in the first half. Wayne had 5 grabs for 83 yards.
QVINNIE TESTEVERDE THREW FOR 230 YARDS, 1 TOUCHDOWN 2 INTERCEPTIONS
QWhat's with that "logo" that the Jets handed out to their fans back in the Chiefs game.  Fans thought of it as an ugly face, a football with a psychiatrists couch over it, a flatbed truck on a football, but a Jets logo? I don't think so.  They even invested money to make a flag out of it.  In this case I think a good flag burning is appropriate. The Letters J-E-T-S with cartoon captions on each letter however IS cute. Just keep the logo we have.  Don't mess with perfection.
