The 2005 Football Pool

as told by the Commish

Week 11

Schatz happened during week 11 as Max's Mommy, Lisa Schatz wins a week for the first time this season. Lisa is by far the hottest player in the league, accumulating 23 wins and gaining 11 games on our slipping leader over the last two weeks. Little Max is happy that the parents will have more money for holiday gifts! Lisa, congratulations!

Three other teams had exceptional weeks in week 11 @ 10-6. Two words: Quick pick.

Michael Casserly, Michael Casserly - Hot on Weinstein's heels

Providence Steamrollers, Andrew Benson - Probably not even aware of his great week, but had the foresight to request a quick pick before his trip.

DaBull, Scott Stern - Quick pick in the library saves the week!

Lisa Schatz 13-3 Brett Kaplan 4-12

State of the Pool

Poor week in the pool where we got 100% participation but only a 46% pick percentage. We are back down to 47% for the season - 392 games under .500

General Commentary

Maybe this is the year of the Giants. We have former Giants damaging our rivals as Ron "Weight Gain" Dayne helped the Broncos get passed them Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Personally I think that Billy Cundiff had the biggest role in the loss. Hopefully the Cowboys can wallow in their misery during their extra days off before they face my G-Men next Sunday!

Overall Leaders

Jason Weinstein, Jason Weinstein - Hanging on by the skin of his teeth but refuses to give up the top spot despite his 5-11 week 11

Karl Knechtel, Karl Knechtel - 1 back - Krazy with a K continues to chip away at Weinstein's lead, now only 1 back!

Mike Casserly, Mike Casserly - 2 back - Gained 5 games on Weinstein this week after his 10 win performance

Major Deegan, Kathy Toomey - 2 back - I-87 continues to keep pace and is picking her spot for the one big week that will put her over the top

The Basement

Dry Humping Martinis, Mike Yamarik continues to dry hump by his lonesome in the basement. Mike has a three game lead on Moose. But I do have to say, the cellar dwellars are fighting, as the bottom five average 8.5 wins this week

Good luck in week 12!
