Teams and Owners
You will find below not only a list of teams and their owners, but also a brief biography of each owner that wanted to contribute one. If you are an owner and haven't sent me an intro yet, drop one to me online today and I will have it posted soon.
Derek Adair - Rocky Hill Rock Cats
Stu Blake - Staten Island Gangsters
Stu Blake 39 , Staten Island, NY married, and have a 4 y/o daughter, who I
call upon for those important rolls in games :)This addiction started back in 1972, when I saw a ad for a game that offered you a season pass for all
games, wow that sounded cool for a 11 year old. So I saw that the game co was based on Long Island, about 20 minutes away for me, and had my Mom drive me
out there, and the rest is history. I also played the Hockey and basketball games growing up. Probably my biggest thrill as a 12 year old, was play
testing the old basketball game , wow , was that a thrill :), and I got a free game out of the deal.
Im a huge Mets fan, and have a Sunday plan, but they are slowly pricing
themselves out of me going . My tickets 2 years ago were 18 a pop, now they are 26 . I enjoy going but. ...
Currently , Im in the Gramma, SOMWORLD, CECBA, and BBL leagues, and have a
blast playing. I see many familar names. and hope to speak to every body
during the season...
Dennis Bronstein - Colorado Snow Cats
I'm Dennis Bronstein, skipper of the Colorado Snow Cats. I'm 29, I live in Denver. I'm a computer consultant for a small consulting company. I've been playing Strat since I was about 6 or 7. My uncle showed my brother and me his old set and we were hooked. He bought us the game and got us 8 teams from 1977. I played with those teams until I finally got the 83 set. I still have some of the cards memorized.
I'm a member of the Great American Baseball league, I'm in my 9th season in the league now. I maintain our
website at www.gabl.org if anyone wants to check it out.

Robert Corsarie - Sea Cliff Islanders
I'm Robert Corsarie, 30 from Long Island, NY. I live within walking distance from Strat. I have been married for 3 years. Started playing start in 1979 when a friend introduced me to it. (I saw that friend a few years ago and he couldn't believe I still play). I usually only do replays but this league seemed like a lot of fun, plus I perfer the memory of players from my childhood to the players of today.
Mike D'Agostino - Warren Redskins
Tony Donato - Hollywood Stars
Jared Donze - Coralville Cardinals
Roch Doran - Los Angeles Stars
Robert Emrich - Queens Kings
HAL - Daytona Dodgers
Bill Hojecki - Bronx Bombsquad
David Icenogle - Zzyzx Quake
41 years old, Cerritos, CA. Been playing Strat baseball since 1970. As a youth also played football and basketball, but haven't played either in years. Discovered PBM BB in 1983 and have been involved in a number of leagues over the years. I've been commissioner and a team owner in the Trans America Baseball League for the last 17 years.
Robert Reincke - Salem Pirates
Phil Taylor - Zanesville Zealots
I am 44, happily married to a wife who does not exactly understand Strat but
allows me to spend much time dabbling in it. There was a small group of us
who played a bit while we were teens, but I got really hooked thanks to a
friend of mine soon after I was married. We would meet a couple of times a
week and play all evening long. One night was the Hall of Famers and the
other would be the current season.
I dropped it for a few years when my nephew started a FTF league with
friends of his and they needed another body. I have been playing in one form
or another since then.
My "claim to fame" was playing in a Strat World tourney in the mid 90's in
Chicago and making the elite 8. (Lost in possibly the most painful game 7
loss in Strat history, but I won't whine about the details here.)
I have been doing PBM for about 5 years now and enjoy it quite a bit.
I used to throw darts very competitively, but I may be retired. Between
Strat and kids, I just don't try like I used to. Highlight of my darts are
three City Championships, a fourth place finish in the State Masters Double,
and a third place finish in the World in Wild Card Cricket (in 97).
By profession, I am currently my company's ISO Management Rep for our ISO
implementation. This will be just another few months - then I think the plan
for me is to be our Lean Champion. I work at one of the country's largest
special machine builders. Our customers include IBM, Intel, HP, Seagate, and
Honda.
I just became a grandfather for the first time and my granddaughter seems to
be the most beautiful baby I have seen in 15 years. :-)
My best to all - I am very much looking forward to this league. It should be
great fun and an interesting twist on the current Strat leagues.
Charles Tripp - Chesapeake Chunkers
I am 38 and currently teach 6th grade Math and Science in Windsor Virginia (about 40 miles west of Virginia Beach). My wife and I have moved to Chesapeake Virginia to take care of my 82 year old dad who has had a heart attack..
I saw an ad in a magazine and got my mom to order some of the teams from the 1973 set. I loved it and the next Easter she got me the entire 1974 set. My friends and I would play for hours. The Dodgers were my favorites and I played through a season with them.
I stayed in contact with Strato baseball sporadically until 1997 when I finally got the CD ROM game. I am not much for the current leagues, but I love the Retro leagues. I am curremtly in the 20th Century Baseball Replay League.
I hope everyone enjoys this league and helps to make it fun.
Steve Woods - Boundary Bay Crabs
I'm Steve Woods. 39, married with two girls ages 10 and 7. I live in Surrey, BC, 5 minutes drive from the Peace Arch border crossing (about 1 hour drive north of Seattle).
Been playing SOM since 1976. Am co-commish of NABL, which I joined in 1977. I've also been a member of CABL for about 5 years.
I retired from the army last year (20 years) and now I work for the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, which is affectionately known to my girls as "the Bus Company". I look after the Company's infrastructure (mostly the transit centers, marine facilities, bus loops and trolley lines, but also the fire prevention for the Skytrain) and environmental management system.
I'm looking forward to dusting off those old cards....
