Here's a warm Singapore welcome to my unofficial Liverpool FC Website. I hope that you have enjoyed your stay here... Liverpool FC has always been my favorite team and it's second to none.
With Gerard Houllier in sole-charge for the 1999-2000 Season, we've seen a new resurgence of Liverpool's Performace on the Field. With the Defence beefed up with the likes of Sammi Hyypia and Stephane Henchoz, and the almost perfect Midfield that comprises of Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hammann & Jamie Redknapp who came back from a prolonged Injury spell.
This past year, we've also seen some new faces upfront. Having bought Emil Heskey from Leicester City, Titi Camara from Racing Lens & Erik Meijer, and the old favorites of Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler. We've seen the best Forwards in the country on the field competing for places upfront.
Last Year, was however a little dissapointing, with the team not being able to qualify for the European Champions' League place, after loosing 3 Consecutive Matches in the month of May. Seeing them slide from the second position right behind Manchester United to a miserable 4th position. However, Europe will still be able to see them competing in the European Cup. Hopefully, they will bring back the Cup for the Year and then compete in the Euro Champions' league for the Season of 2001-2002.
With some more new faces heading into the club, with the likes of Gary McAllister signed from Coventry City, Pegguy Arphexad and Emil heskey signed from Leicester City. Some of the familiar faces like Rigobert Song heading off for another club in Europe, American Brad Friedel might besigning for Everton as his work permit is coming to an end soon & Stig Inge Bjornebye headed for Blackburn Rovers.
The famous song "You'll Never Walk Alone" is not only the club's song, but it is also the club's main motto, as you can see it on top of the famous main gate. It was given to the club since the famous day's of Bill Shankly-one of Liverpool's famous legends. The fans normally will start to sing after the team has scored or when they feel that the game's won.
