Peyton Manning is going to win. Charles Woodson is an arrogant clown, who believes his own lame hype. Tennessee probably has at least two defensive backs on its team that could do the same as Woodson if the coach wanted to put them on offense at the fiv yard line for a touchdown pass. And you know Manning could get it to them.

He really has a strong sexual fixation on your Mr. Woodson. The doctors said that allowing him to go online would be therapuetic but his family has found that to be contradictory to our findings. Mr. Woodson, our family asks th t you refrain from showing your behind when you showboat. It really gets our little brother excited. Poor Igor, I just don't know what we are going to do with him.

I can't even beleive that this years Heisman race has even become a race. What is so great about Charles Woodson other that he has 40 tackles (WOW!), seven interceptions (my grandmother could have as many if she played against such awesome quarterbacks), received eleven passes (many receivers get that in one game). Peyton, we love you. Woodson sucks. Live on mighty, mighty vols!!! I say its good to be a Tennessee Vol...I say its good to be a Tennessee Vol (and Wash. State Fan). If Manning proved anything in the SEC championship game, he proved how over rated he is. 2 INTs, 6 turnovers and had to come back from 10 points down in the second half to manage a 1 point win over hapless Auburn. TO BOB (DATED 12-08-97) You are so very wrong and mistaken. Michigan played Colorado, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. All, but Notre Dame was ranked when Michigan played them. Ohio St., and Penn St. were in the top 5. Colorado in the top 0, and the rest were all ranked in the top 25. A lot more impresive than a team that struggled to beat Vandy 17-10, or the same team that lost to Florida and barely got by Auburn. If you are truly as ignorant as you appear to be, then I don't understand h w you could tell a hole in the ground from your own ASS. DUMBASS

Responding to Get a Life-Peyton doesn't keep reminding anyone of his talent or the fact he stayed in school-his fans do to remind you Michigan people that although both Woodson and Manning are exceptional players, Manning has something Woodson doesn't and that is class. Woodson is the self promoting one telling the media he should win the heisman and that he is the best player in the game. Peyton won't even comment on the heisman, he said all he's ever wanted is a championship and now he has it and is goin to the Rose Bowl. Woodson is the self promoter here and the thing is I bet Woodson would be the first one to admit it. Peyton is the best all around player in football, in every area on and off the field, and Peyton deserves the heisman for all that he h s contributed to the sport on and off the field.

In the past, tennessee was such a non-entity, I didn't even think of them. I actually rooted for them against the Gators. Now, after seeing their classless posts, and how they are obsessed with posting messages on OUR page, I've changed my mind. I can't s omach tennessee. However, I do hope they beat Nebraska (although a team commiting SIX turnovers is unlikely to do so). Charles Woodson is clearly the best in the land. Good luck Charles. And if Manning is so great and decided to return to school "just bec use it was the right thing to do," why is constantly reminding us of this fact? Sounds pretty self-serving to me! What does he want, praise?

A little background on the REAL DEAL ANN ARBOR -- The toddler laughed and splashed as he always did. Charles Woodson loved his bath. He was 6 months old, a sweet baby. His mother smiled. Then, for the first ti e, she noticed his arches. "They just didn't look the way they should," Georgia Woodson recalls. Charles was diagnosed as having clubbed feet. For the better part of the next year, Charles Woodson wore leg braces. They secured his legs to each other, preventing him from walking. "We had to carry him because he had to wear leg braces all day," h s mother says. "He basically couldn't walk at all." Until he was 4, he had to wear corrective shoes. Kids being kids, he was teased. And he hated the shoes. "He didn't want to wear them," Georgia says. "He fought it." Woodson has been fighting -- and winning -- ever since. He went on to become Ohio's best high school football player, then an All-American at Michigan. Now, he is one of the top candidates for this year's Heisman Trophy award. The winner will be announced Dec. 13. He already has earned the Walter Camp award, which also honors the nation's top college football play r. Only five times since the award was first given in 1967 has the Camp award gone to an athlete who ultimately didn't win the Heisman. Still, the odds are against Woodson because he is primarily a d fensive player. A defensive player has never won the Heisman. "If the Heisman doesn't come around, it doesn't," Woodson says. "I'll still be happy." That is exactly what his mother would expect him to say. She recalls that Charles always appeared unpretentious, "laid-back and quiet, so much so you never knew he wa in the room." The child from a devoutly Pentecostal house never caused trouble. And he honored his mother's directives to do his homework before play. He loved cabbage and lasagna, fried chicken and shrimp. He appeared addicted in youth to cartoons and professional wrestling. "When it came down to sports, he just went out to play," his mother says. "He was never a 'Me, me, me' person. It was always 'What can we do as a team.' All that mattered to him was helping the team win." Still, his competitive fires were being stoked. his mother and father were divorced shortly before his fifth birthday. But he had an older brother and sister, and looked up to them both. Terry was a f otball star at Ross High School in Fremont, Ohio. Shannon was a track star at the University of Arkansas. She narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympics in the 400-meter hurdles. "I think they all wanted to be the best," Georgia Woodson says. "They'd fight among themselves, saying, 'I can run faster, I can play better basketball.' It was never seri us, just brother-sister trash-talking." It was sometimes hard on the furniture, too. "I remember Terry and I would play football in the house a l the time," Woodson says. "He'd line himself up in front of the couch. It was fun. He never took it easy on me, though." Because he was so young, Woodson has little recollection of the braces and shoes of his toddler years. "I just found out about it a couple of years ago," he says. "But I'm glad that my mother and father caught it early." His legs were fine by the time Rex Radeloff, the biology teacher and retired football coach at Ross High School, first saw him when Woodson was in seventh grade. Radeloff new at once he was witnessing something special. By the time Woodson was in ninth grade, Radeloff considered him ready or varsity football. Woodson's mother disagreed. Radeloff waited. "Every time he ouched the ball was exciting," Radeloff recalls. "You never knew what was going to happen. He could break a play at any time. "He was a true force." During a three-year prep career in which Ross went 23-7, Woodson amassed a school-record 3,861 yards rushing and 466 points. He collected roughly 6,000 all-purpose ya ds, including kickoffs and punt returns -- one for an 84-yard score. Defensively, he blocked passes, picked off passes and caused fumbles. USA Today named him a prep All-American. He was voted Mr. Football in Ohio. "He made things happen," Radeloff says. "He's one player I'll never forget." When he arrived in Ann Arbor, the coaches assumed Woodson would opt to play offense. They quickly learned not to assume anything where Woodson is concerned. "I told them defense was my first choice," Woodson says. "In 10th grade, I started playing defense. Mainly because we already had a great tailback. Once I started playing it, it just started growing on me. I liked it a lot. "I think it's a lot more aggressive. You have 11 people running to the football, trying to get there at the same time. There's a big celebration after the hit. It's kind of hard to describe." Still, talent like Woodson's is hard to come by. Michigan coach Lloyd Carr decided to use Woodson in as many ways as possible -- defense, offense and special teams. "After Charles comes off the field with the defensive unit, it's his job to tell the coaches when he's rested enough to go in and play on offense," Carr says. "As the season wore on, and every game got bigger and bigger, Charles was up on that sideline just about all the time saying, 'I'm ready to go. Put me in."' The No. 1 Wolverines went 11-0, won the Big Ten championship, and can wrap up their first national championship since 1948 with a victory over Washington State in the Rose Bowl game on New Year's Day. Defensively, Woodson had seven interceptions this season, second-best in the nation. "You hear about these so-called All-Americans, but this guy is the real deal," Minnesota coach Glen Mason says. "If there's a better player in the country, I don't know who he is." Offensively, he averaged 21 yards on 11 pass receptions, 8.6 yards on 33 punt returns and 5 yards on three runs. Woodson also completed a pass and scored four touchdowns. "He's the best player I have ever played with, and the best in the nation," Michigan strong safety Marcus Ray says. "I'm not sure he needs any added pressure, but we all know it." In the Wolverines' pivotal 20-14 season-ending victory over Ohio State, Woodson caught a 37-yard pass to set up Michigan's first touchdown, returned a punt 78 yards for another score and thwarted a Buckeyes rally with an interception in the end zone. "He took over the game," says Ohio State wide receiver David Boston, who had taunted Woodson publicly in the days before the game. "Big players show up in big games. He made that punt return and that interception and played good defensively all game. I have nothing but good things to say about him." Despite strong games against Penn State and Ohio State, an interception Woodson made at Michigan State is likely to be the one that fans most remember. Spartans quarterback Todd Schultz saw all his receivers were covered. He was simply trying to throw the ball out of bounds and avoid a sack. But Woodson made a tremendous leap, snatched the ball out of the air in one hand, then managed to keep one foot inbounds as he tumbled to the turf. "I always knew he would excel," says his mother, a forklift operator at an Ohio bottle factory. "He always wanted to be the best at whatever he was doing. I've always taught him he should strive to be that way." This may be Woodson's last shot at the Heisman, even though he's only a junior (majoring in sports management and communications). Many observers feel he is ready for the NFL and likely would be one of the first five players taken in the draft. If he does leave school, he would do so with Carr's blessing. Woodson is less certain how his mother might feel about passing up his senior season for the NFL. All his big decisions have gone through Georgia Woodson, from the days of the leg braces and cumbersome shoes. This one is no different. They will discuss it after the Rose Bowl. "We'll just talk everything out and go from there," he says. Way to go Charles you're the best!!

I will agree that Woodson is a great athlete. The Heisman is not for the best atlete though, it's for the best football player. Peyton Manning is the best football player. Woodson has not contributed as much to his team as Manning has to Tennessee. Wi h all due respect to Woodson, if he played for Tennessee, he would be as well known as Little. Little is a great defensive player but is overshadowed by Manning. Woodson would be the same way. As for the people saying the SEC Championship was to close or UT to be in the Orange Bowl, any team that turns the ball over that many times and still wins has a great team. I didn't hear anything when Missouri gave Nebraska a fit. I am like the Nebraska fans, a temprary WSU fan. However, if Michigan beats WSU I will have no problem saying they deserve the National Title, but if they slip up, Tennessee for the National Championship. Go Vols!!! Go WSU!!!

Charles Woodson is a great player. However He can not hold Peyton Manning's jock. Peyton is a student of the game. Woodson acts like a jerk. Just like taking his helmet off in the Ohio State game and showing his a$$. He is self centered. It has noth ng to do with North vs. South, it is about a good guy vs. "I am the best". See who goes higher in the draft.

Did you see how "sickening" the ABC broadcasting team was regarding Manning's performance on Saturday? Comments such as, "He should have CAUGHT the ball....oh, he has to make catches like that...et al" Sickening. I've never seen the statistic "DROPPED PAS ES" before. Is there also a stastic that says, "AMAZING CATCHES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCOMPLETE." And Griese was nauseating. Sometimes, he goes overboard to show he isn't biased towards Michigan. WOODSON IS THE BEST. GO BLUE.

We all know Manning can't do it in the big games. SEC Championship, Whoopee! When it is all over just look at the past, Peyton Manning 0-4 versus Florida. You have to be joking Charles Woodson for the Heisman Trophy? Just look at his stats on this web page. He is definitely a good defensive player, but Heisman Trophy material? What a laugh. He has 7 interceptions, OK. How many for TD's, ZERO!!! He is supposed to be such a threat on punt returns. It is interesting that his stats on this web page don't include yds./return and that is because it's 8 yds per return. He is a mediocre return. Consider that alternative: 11,000 yds in his career. 39 touchdowns this year. A person who is a team leader and role model for the whole country. Has done more for promoting college football in his career, especially this spring, than maybe anyone ever. There is no race for the Heisman. Go Manning, Go Vols, and Go WSU.

Hey Tennessee fans. The media and sophisticated fans such as those here in Ann Arbor believe that FSU should play Nebraska in the Orange Bowl. tennessee looked TERRIBLE and barely beat a team with NO running game. As for the idiot who keeps on saying that Michigan hasn't played a good passing team, and cites passing "rankings" to support his "suspect" contention. Isn't is funny that tennessee (small case is appropriate) FAILS to mention who the TOP RANKED PASSING TEAMS actually ARE. 1. Nevada 2. Kentucky 3. Louisiana TECH 8. Eastern Michigan. HARDLY impressive. Is there now a course at tennessee called "statistical manipulation?" Woodson rules. GO BLUE!

Peyton deserved the award before he ever set foot on the field this year because of his contribution to college footba l. Thank God for players of his caliber that my kids can look up to. Instead of telling me how much you deserve the award, you should take a lesson in humility from such a quality human being. Here are the national passing yardage rankings of Michigan's opponents: #29 Ohio State, #35 Colorado, #50 Penn State, #51 Indiana, #71 Iowa, #72 Northwestern, #75 Notre Dame, #76 Mich. State, #90 Minnesota, #96 Baylor. If you average that out, Michigan's opponents would average out as the 67th ranked passing team at 235.6 yar s passing per game. This is not an impressive resume'. None of Michigan's opponents had a big-armed, great QB. Woodson has not faced a good QB year to date. The stats bear this out. On punt returns, Woodson is not ranked in the top 50 at only 8.5 yards pe return. His 7 interceptions do not lead the country and there are other DBs on his own team that have close to his number of interceptions.Alabama's Antonio Langham had 11 interceptions the year the Tide won the NCAA Championship. He returned 4 for TDs a yet, was not a figure in the Heisman balloting. Why should Woodson even be given consideration? He has played one game on National TV where he made good plays. The networks didn't show the replays of the times he was burned for a TD or displayed poor sp rtsmanship. Would you be proud of his accomplishments on and off the field? I really feel that if Woodson wins the Heisman, the prestige of the award will be forever damaged and tarnished. The media will have taken the award into their own hands and it wi l lose its luster. There are guys playing today that are better athletes than Woodson. Terry Fair,Hines Ward of Georgia, Jermaine Copeland. If Woodson wins, ABC, ESPN, ESPN@ should hang their collective heads in shame. This is as bad as point shaving in m mind.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. P.S. To the little shit who was transported to Oak Ridge from Michigan - Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Peyton Manning is the best player in college football. He holds many of UT's records. He has thrown for over 3,000 yards, 33 TDS, and 9 INTs. What has Charles Woodson done? Just caught a couple of passes as a receiver, and made a few lucky plays on defense. So, Heisman Voters. Don't vote for who is on the no. 1 team, who is loved by ESPN and ABC. Who has no character. Vote for someone who has played hard every Saturday. Who is hardworking, dedicated, and has the respect and admiration of 107,000 fans at a sold-out stadium. That young man is Peyton Manning. Guess what, Charlie. It will be you and the Michigan fans that will be pissed off on December the 13th when Peyton Manning is announced as the winner of the Heisman Trophy. Here lately, jerkoffs like Beano Cook of ESPN and others in the media have treated you like you are God's gift to College Football. Hell. You even believe that yourself, don't you? Peyton is a much better ball player. He wins games for his team and refuses to take all the credit. The Heisman Trophy is not the most important thing to him, even though he'll win it. I was born Nov. 2 1983 in Warren,MI. At the age of ten I was transplanted to the town of Oak Ridge, TN. As you can guess, this place is worse than Hell. All the inhabitants are hicks, red necks and inbreeds. Charles Woodson has had the ball thrown at him 23 times. He's got 7 interceptions, 11 knock downs and 5 completions. Manning isn't even in the top 10 in QB ratings. Sure, the SEC is a strong conference, ( the Big Ten is stronger ) but look at the teams Tennessee plays. Vandy strikes fear into the hearts of all their opponents. My fellow Michigan fans, the only logical way to get back at these Tennessee pukes is to invade their web page. Go to www.govols.com, click on forms under fans on the floating tool bar. After that you should be able to guide your self after that. GO BL E, GO CHARLES!

Beating Ohio State does not make anyone a national champion, especially if all they can do is go hide out in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State got crushed by Georgia 5 years ago in the Citrus Bowl, waxed by Alabama (who dogged Michigan in the Sunshine State but year ago) 3 years ago in the same bowl, decimated along with their Heisman winner two years ago by Tennessee, and, I guarantee it, they will be utterly demolished by Spurrier's Gators this year in the very same game. The Little 10 stinks; there are no p ssers in that "league," and no speed on defense to speak of. The SEC always has been and always will be the premier conference in college athletics. 1933 was a long time ago, Wolverine fans. And beating the number 10 team in the US after beating a team who got beat by perennially overrated PSU (who got crushed by Michigan State) simply does not a national champion make. Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and FSU of the ACC would simply hand you your heads, as the legendary Crimson Tide did last y ar. If you were to play a REAL team this year, you'd get pummelled. Down south, we look at playing little 10 teams like playing the Merry Sisters of the Poor. You beat Ohio State and Washington State and call yourselves NCAA Champions. That's a joke. hen a playoff system is implemented ultimately, and even when the Flower Bowl joins the Alliance of Power, you will have to play real opponents such as Florida, who lost fewer home games this decade than you did last year. If any team in your "league" be ides PSU ever beat an SEC team in a bowl game, I would say you deserve the championship. But until you come down and play where there is speed like you've never seen before on defense, any awards you claim are unwarranted. It is a fact that "Ohio State, despite their little 10 prowess historically, "has never, ever beaten an SEC team, and they never will." Has Michigan? Go Gators! Air Spurrier said it: "the SEC will win the Heisman again"!

Fellow Wolverines. Think about this! We had better hope that Auburn, though inferior by BIG 10 standards, beats hapless Tennessee. Should Tennessee play Nebraska in a bowl game, they would destroy Tennessee and possibly sway voters to split the national t tle, should we beat WSU. Tennessee has no defense. Look at what Florida and Kentucky did to them. Also, lousy Arkansas almost beat them. Tennessee is certainly not impressive -- just look at what PSU did to them recently in a bowl game. Good luck Auburn. S -- an article in the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER stated that Michigan had the best football team, marching band and fight song.

While I will give Mr. Woodson credit for being a fine defensive football player, it is insane to consider him for the Heisman tropy. He is involved on maybe 6 plays per game. Peyton Manning by staying for he senior season has done more for college footb ll than any player in the last 25 years!!!! His numbers are unarguable and he also carries himself in a manner worthy of this honor. Never once has he publicly campaigned for the Heisman. Never has he struck the pose made so common a few years ago by Hei man hopefuls all across the country. Basically what I'm saying is Beano "YODA" Cooke(the man said Powlus would win at least 2 Heismans at Notre Dame) and his Northern cronies can actully steal the award from Peyton because Woodson has had 5 or six big plays then the award loses its luste as far as I'm concerned. If you want to give the trophy to the best Athlete in College football go to Georgia; Hines Ward has play QB, running back reciever, kick returner and could be the first ever 1,000 plus yarder in 4 seperate catgorys in a career hy isn't he being looked at? Finally, look I wish Charles all the best but the Heisman Trophy is Peytons and THATS THE BOTTOM LINE!!!!

Woodson should not win the Heisman!!!!!! Three reasons: 1)Peyton Manning is better for college football and also a better football player. 2)Peyton's number's back that up; Woodson's do not. 3)Woodson hasn't faced any great passing teams!!!

hey, BLUE FAN, yeah you. The one that said the SEC players would whine about the weather if they played someone up north. come down to Knoxville and say that shit, see what happens ya damn loser. The big 3, oh im sorry, i meant the big 10 is the most ov r-rated conference in the nation. SEC is the best, and dont get me wrong i hate Florida, but their SEC. I didnt see any SEC teams on your schedule. I guarantee you that TENNESSEE, Florida, Georgia, lsu, Auburn, could all beat michigan. you got 3 good eams in your conference and the rest of them SUCK. The SEC is packed, and as far as im concerned all you Michigan and big 10 fans up north can stick it..............I SAID ITS GREAT TO BE TENNESSEE VOL, I SAID ITS GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL, ITS GREAT T BE A TENNESSEE VOL

I acknowledge that Charles Woodson is a terrific athlete, but Peyton's numbers speak for themselves. One that comes to mind is seventh all time NCAA career yardage. Anyone who would not vote for someone with this much talent ans class obviously knows noth ng about football.

Charles woodson is the biggest pussy in the country. Ryan Leaf will throw at leat three touchdown passes on him alone. Michigan does have an awesome defensive line and linebackers as seen in the osu game. Ohio state deserved to win that game they total y out played and dominated the michigan offense with their stellar defense. Antoine Winfield is a much better cornerback in all aspects of the game. Woodson can just go suck his big fucking cock and enjoy it.

Peyton Manning is the overall best canidate for the Heisman Trophy. The award is also judged by off the field activities as well. Woodson has no statistics that jump out at you like Manning has. Woodson give it up, your real Heisman Trophy winner is in Kn xville. Just like the national championship will be come January 1.

I attended the Tennessee/Vanderbilt game on Saturday. Judging from the defensive scheme employed by my good friend ,Vanderbilt Coach, Woody Widenhoffer, Peyton Manning handled it well ." Charles Woodson has had a great year but I really think that Peyton ill win the Heisman Trophy. I'd be surprised if he doesn't."

Charles Woodson is a great athlete, but an insult to the Heisman. He will probably win it, though, and cheapen the trophy for future winners. In ten years, no one will care about the Heisman, and we can thank C. Woodson, bonafide joke.

I have been a fan for a long time, but this has been the best year I could have hoped for. Being from Boston I have to deal with alot of mess about the BRUINS,PATRIOTS,CELTICS. But watching college football to me is the best because these kids love to play. remember money is only money play where you would like to play not where the money is. WOODSON FOR HEISMAN!! AND I WAS NEVER HAPPIER TO SEE SOMEONE GET POPPED THEN WHEN I SAW BOSTON GET WHAT HE DESERVED. NOW GO GET THAT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charles Woodson is the best player in the nation. If he doesn't win the Heisman I think there should be some sort of protest. Peyton Manning is no good. If he were any good he would have more than just passing stats, Woodson has statss everywhere. The H isman goes to the best player in college football and thats Woodson!!!
