Our game against the Boston Demons on the Saturday 28 Mar 98 is now in full swing, with the Boston team all fired up, and already booked into a hotel next to the Australian Embassy. Our first training run on the 22 Feb 98 was a great success, and well supported by all. We had some 20 odd fully committed players turn out in full footy gear, which was great to see. Even the tourists were impressed. Keep it up team !!!! We have our second training run this Sunday 8 Mar 98, so we hope to see more new faces down there. After this weeks training, we will be starting an "Eagles Feast" which will comprise of the good old Aussie meat pie and a cold one to wash it down, so don't forget and come along. We also have official footballs plus videos on "This is Australian Football" and "Australian Football Skills" on their way, courtesy of AFL. I will update you all when they arrive.

The President of the USAFA, Mr Paul Okeeffe got back to me today with good news from back home in Oz. The Western Australian AFL team, the West Coast Eagles have agreed to be our sponsors and have allowed us to be an affiliation with their club. We will have to wait and see to what this means, whether they provide playing jumpers / supply footballs or supply funds for us to get our own gear made up, lets hope the lot.
So the Washington DC football club is now Officially called the "Washington DC Eagles".
The Washington DC Eagles will be taking on the Boston Demons in the first match ever to be played by the Boston Club. The date of the Game is March 28th, 1998 and the location that is yet to be determined. Come for a kick or to support the D.C. Eagles as they show the Bostonians how to play this game.
