Program Description
Mission Statement:
The Ohio State University Athletic Training Program will strive to provide effective health care to Ohio State University varsity athletes through injury prevention, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation while creating an educational environment in the field of sports medicine for student athletic trainers who are pursuing a career in Athletic Training.

Objectives:
1.-Create an environment where all athletes involved in the intercollegiate athletic program at Ohio State receive the best medical care possible.

2.-Comply with the University, NCAA, and Big Ten Conference guidelines regarding medical care coverage for intercollegiate athletics.

3.-Assist the student athletic trainers in becoming competent in the field of athletic training.

4.-Help the student athletic trainers pursue an education in the field of their choice and are able to continue in that chosen field upon graduation.

5.-Provide an environment that will encourage learning in the field of sports medicine for the student athletic trainer through classes, inservices, competency coursework, and practical experience.

6.-Follow the guidelines and promote involvment in the National Athletic Trainers Association, Ohio Athletic Trainers Association, and the State of Ohio Athletic Training Licensure.

7.-Promote Athletic Training as a profession through educational symposiums,camps, and public relations.
