Overview of the Field
Athletic trainers practice prevention, recognition, assessment, management, treatment, and reconditioning of acute athletic injuries upon the referral of a physician.

Program Prerequisites
Students addmitted into the program are required to complete a minimum of 48 hours prior to enrollment in the school. Satisfactory completion of the following courses or approved eqivalent courses with a C- or better must occur by the end of the spring quarter prior to beginning the professional program.
CBN & Anatomy 199-5 qtr. hrs
Chemistry 121-5 qtr. hrs
Psychology 100-5 qtr. hrs
PAES 201-3 qtr. hrs
Biology 113-5 qtr. hrs
Pharmacy 200-3 qtr. hrs

General Education Requirements(GEC)
Courses that fulfill the General Education Curriculum Requirements(GEC) may be selected from the approved course list. Two GEC courses must be completed before beginning the professional program.

Admission Criteria
**Evidence of experience in the field of athletic training. For those applicants receiving the highest rating in the prescreening process, additional reference and confirmation of 200 hours will be requested of the supervising certified athletic trainer.
**Only applicants with a cumulative point-hour ratio of 2.7 or higher at the time of application will be evaluated for possible admission.
**Personal interviews will be conducted with only those canadites who receive the highest rating in the prescreening process.
