  • 1/17-19/2002: Heritage Tourney, there, VB & G, 4:30 (Teams: 3AHeritage, 3AGlenallen, 3A Delta, and 2A Ninilchik) First games of the season.


    Ninilchik vs. 3A Glennallen on Thursday: Ninilchik wins 55-17. Jr. Whitney Leman put in 17 points along with 4 steals and 13 assists. Molly Bosick added 11. They had a 22-6 lead after the first quarter and held Glenallen scoreless in the 3rd quarter. Other scorers were Amanda Peterson, 2; Amanda Matson, 8; Maria Johnson, 2; Kelsey Deiman, 5; Janelle Moerlein, 2; and Brieanna Leman, 8. 3 pt. goals: Whitney Leman, 2 and Kelsey Deiman 1.


    Ninilchik vs. 3A Delta Junction on Friday at 3:30: Ninilchik wins 66-21. Whitney Leman led with 19 points, including 4 tres. Molly Bosick put in 12 points, Janelle Moerlein - 10, Kelsey Deiman - 8, and Brieanna Leman and Amanda Peterson both scored 5. Other scorers: Dylan McKee and Maria Johnson both scored 2 and Amanda Matson scored 4.


    Ninilchik vs. 3A Heritage: Ninilchik wins by 2 - final score 40-38. Whitney Leman led all scorers with 25 points, including 3 tres. Molly Bosick put in 7; Kelsey Deiman added 6 and Janelle Moerlein and Brieanna Leman each had a point.



    Junior standout WHITNEY LEMAN is named female MVP of the Heritage Tournament


  • 1/23/2002: Unalaska, home, VB & G, 4:00 pm: Ninilchik wins 70-9. Molly Bosick led all scorers with 18 points followed by Whitney Leman with 14 and Janelle Moerlein with 13. Players scoring in single figures were Amanda Peterson and Brieanna Leman each with 5 and Katie Moerlein, Kelsey Deiman, and Dylan McKee each with a bucket. 3 point baskets were scored by Amanda Matson, Amanda Peterson, and Brieanna Leman.


  • 1/24/2002: Lumen Christi, home, VB & G, 4:00: Ninilchik wins 51-14. Whitney Leman scored 16 points including a couple of three pointers. Molly Bosick also scored in double figures, adding 12. Other scorers for the game: Amanda Peterson with 4, Amanda Matson with 5, Janelle Moerlein with 8, and Maria Johnson, Kelsey Deiman, and Dylan McKee with a bucket each.


  • 1/25/2002: Galena, home, VB & G, 5 pm: Ninilchik wins 76-21. Whitney Leman led all players with 32 points, including a pairs of tres. Other scorers were Molly Bosick with 13, Kelsey Deiman with 11 (incl. a three pointer), Brieanna Leman with 9, Janelle Moerlein with 6, Amanda Peterson with 5, and Amanda Matson with a bucket.


  • 1/26/2002: 4A Skyview Varsity, home, VB & G, 5 pm: Ninilchik wins 57-28. Whitney Leman leads all scorers with 28 points, including a three point goal. Other scorers from the Wolverine team: Amanda Matson - 7, Janelle Moerlein - 4, Molly Bosick - 3, Brieanna Leman - 11, Maria Johnson and Dylan McKee - 1 each, and Kelsey Deiman - 2.


  • 1/29/2002: CIA, there, VB & G, 5:00 pm. Girls win 54-24. Janelle scores 17; Whitney scores 12, Amanda Matson 10, Brieanna Leman 9, Amanda Peterson 4, and Maria Johnson 2. Molly Bosick is sick - get well Molly!


  • 1/30/2002: Endowment game with Cordova at 5 pm, VB & G, 5 pm: Ninilchik wins 47-23. Whitney Leman scored 19 points and Molly put in 11. Other scorers: Janelle Moerlein - 8, Amanda Matson and Brieanna Leman - 3 apiece, Amanda Peterson - 1, and Maria Johnson - 2.


  • 1/31/2002: Mat. Christian, there, VB & G: Ninilchik wins 46-15. Molly puts in 16, Whitney scores 12 and Amanda Matson scores 10.


  • 2/1/2002: Lumen Christi, there, VB & G. Ninilchik wins 54-8.


  • 2/2/2002: 3A Su-Valley, there, VB & G, 2 pm. Ninilchik wins 55-21. Molly was high scorer with 15, followed by Whitney with 14, including a tre. Amanda Peterson had a good game with 8 while Janelle put in 6. Brie Leman, Kelsey Deiman, and Dylan McKee each scored 4 points.

  • 2/5/2002: CCS, home, VB & G, 4 pm: Win by forfeit.


  • 2/8/2002: Nikolaevsk, home, JV & VB & VG, 4:00 pm: Ninilchik wins 59-13. Molly Bosick pumps in 18 including a 3 pointer, and Whitney adds 13, including a 3 pointer. Also making three pointers were Brieanna Leman and Amanda Matson (who had a total of 5 points). Other scorers: Katie Moerlein with 4, Janelle Moerlein and Mindy Dawson each added 6, and Kelsey Deiman and Dylan McKee put in a bucket each.

  • 2/23/2002: CIA, home, VB&G, 5 pm - last varsity home game: Ninilchik takes it 75-34. Molly Bosick leads all scorers with 26 points. Other scorers in double figures: Whitney Leman with 19 (incl. a three pointer), Brieanna Leman with 13 (incl. 3 three pointers), and Janelle Moerlein with 10. Kelsey Deiman added 5 and Amanda Matson a bucket. Ninilchik was 14/18 at the free throw line. Before the game, seniors were given roses (purchased by Edna Steik) and bios were read. Thanks to all our seniors, boys and girls, for the outstanding effort and entertainment you've provided us all these years!


  • 3/1-2/2002: Seldovia, there, JV/VB & G: Ninilchik wins 33-29. Molly leads Ninilchik scorers with 10 points. Whitney puts in 8, Brie - 7, and Kelsey - 6. Janelle scores a bucket.

  • 3/9/2002: CCS, there, VB & G. Ninilchik wins it 63-16. Janelle pumps in 19 to lead all scorers. Kelsey adds 11 (incl. 3 3 pointers), and Amanda Matson and Molly each put in 10. Other scorers: Katie Moerlein and Maria Johnson each with 4; Whitney Leman with 3, and Dylan McKee with a bucket.


  • 3/15/2002: Nikolaevsk, there, JV & VB & G, 4:30 pm. Ninilchik wins it 60-17. Leading basketmaker for the Wolverines was Molly with 13, followed by Janelle with 10. Kelsey put in 9 followed closely by Whitney Leman & Amanda Matson, each with 8. Other scorers: Brieanna with 6, Dylan with 4, and Amanda Peterson with a bucket. (Kelsey and Whitney each made a 3 pt. bucket.)
