Aybar to Reds

The Reds have one of the best best bullpens in the majors, but shipped LHP Gabe White to the Rockies in exchange for RHP Manny Aybar yesterday. Aybar who is 25 years old is a is a up and comming pitcher and should prove to be a good aquisition to the Reds bullpen. Aybar took a hit Wednesday, allowing five hits in 1 2/3 innings against Atlanta in the Rockies defeat. Aybar was 4-5 with three saves and a 5.47 ERA in 67 games last season with St. Louis. Aybar is regarded as having enourmous talent and he was 10-0 with a 2.60 ERA at Triple-A two seasons ago. "Manny is young and has a good arm," Reds GM Jim Bowden said in response to the trade. As for taking the place of White, who was 1-2 with a 4.43 ERA in 50 games last season, Aybar should do fine. He should also fit in well with the talented bullpen of Williamson, Graves, Mercado and Dennys Reyes. There's only one question now. Who's going to start?
