For Pete's Sake

Well. What happend? I cant say for sure but im sure it can only get better for the Reds pitching staff. Pete Harnisch's stuff just didn't show up. " They hit every mistake I threw," Harnisch said. Sosa's upstaging of Griffey started in the first inning with a 448-foot blast over the center field fence. It broke Sammy Sosa's 0-12 slump and was his second homer of the season. Sosa went just one for four in his first meeting with Griffey since '92 but drove in 3 runs. As for Griffey he hit a sacrafice fly in the ninth with the bases jammed but went 0-4 and is just hitting .056 (1-for-18) in five games. Mark Grace and Damon Buford also homered and Gutierrez had three hits and three RBI's and the Cubs snapped a four game skid. As for the Reds highlights, Barry Larkin homered following a single by Pokey Reese in the seventh to cut the deficit to 10-4. Alex Ochoa homered in the eighthto make it 10-5. Rookie D.T. Cromer hit his 3 hit in 3 at bats in the ninth and eventually Griffey hit a sac fly to add another for a final of 10-7. The Reds play today at 1:15 if the weather cooperates.
